Nitro Fan, I had quite a battle to get my computer to recognise my P990 but rather than the P990, I blame my firewall.

I use Windows One Care. I recently switched from Norton Internet Security because I found Norton was strangling my computer and hardly letting anything through without a lot of work on my part. It took several attempts to get past One Care but it was made a lot easier when I downloaded the latest version of PC Suite from Sony Ericsson.

I've now connected on two computers and learning from my first attempt the second was no trouble at all. I think the big difference was using the latest PC Suite.

geeze, its sad to note that we are bugged with sync issues. I am grateful that i manage to install my PC suite and it recognizes my P990i accoridngly. However i have trouble in synch-ing my outlook mails. The contacts and calendar are ok but my mail wont synch-in. My initiail success in synchronizing my mail which covers for the previous week was ok...but since yesterady i am synching again but it just hangs and does nothing and the program stuck on the intial prompt as if it stucks there and will not go anywhere. When you abort... all the windows application runs very very slow which will prompt me to reboot my system.

Is there any PC Suite update. i ahve installed the one that comes with the package. Sadly i cannot write down the suite version as am doing this at home (which the PC suite cannot be installed due to my old MS Window program). Is there any other program which can let me synch my mails effectively? Pls advise my tons of emails are very important in my work.

Thanks for the help.

I agree its a ruddy awefull suite of pograms, I got rid of Norton today as part of the P990 problems I have reverted to Windows firewall and AVG for anti Virus. But acording to SE I now have the very latest sync SW so I have given up for the night! But SE thrid line support are supposed to be comming back to me tomorrow so we shall see what they have to say.

SE told me the UK site is not working so go to the Corprate site and take the support option you can download the latest version there. I am very fed up!

If all else fails go to the M600 download page. It's the same PC Suite:

Eh.. just use notepad! Then send the txt-file to the phone wia BT or so... p990 can open it and you can copy and paste the text best you want.
