Is there any PC Suite update. i ahve installed the one that comes with the package. Sadly i cannot write down the suite version as am doing this at home (which the PC suite cannot be installed due to my old MS Window program). Is there any other program which can let me synch my mails effectively? Pls advise my tons of emails are very important in my work.
If all else fails go to the M600 download page. It's the same PC Suite:

Thanks. the installed PC suite reads 1.1.8 and the link above says 1.2.15 hope it resolves my e-mail synch issues. im downloading it right now and hope it works well with P990i as well as it shows for M600i - but then and again both are smarth phones...it should work. Or should it? as soon as i finished downloading...i will install and update you guys.
Btw, i tried updating my firmware yesterday but the flashing took more than 45mins then i decided to abort it. Bad thing it didn't not updatedated as the program seemed to be not responding. The good thing it did not damage whatever is preinstalled in my p990i - its the same firmware. My current system info -
Phone: R4B001
BT: R4F01
ORG: R2A04
CDA R2A01
Do i need to upgrade my FW? what are the developments in the new FW. Although i have downloaded the Update service Inst_2.6.4.9 yesterday with my experience yesterday i am having second thoughts of flashing again. Is it worth doing again the upgrade of FW. whats new on this update? Can anyone enlgihten me. Thanks.

Do not format your PC!
Its allmost 100% certain it's the SW at fault not you PC, I have spent most of the day on the phone to SE as Vodafone and cannot support the P990 at any kind of technical level yet and have had a very interesting time good job I am on annual leave!
1. SE told Voda not to release the phone as ther are too many known bugs and conflicts with Anti Virus SW and Firewalls.
2. The PC suite Voda are currently sending out with the P990 is faulty and is an outdated version that even SE dont really know where Voda got it from!. It has cused 10 blue screen crashes so far, I have had to uninstall my firewall and anti Virus SW (To zero effect other than to find a better product so I am pleased about that at least

) I have also had to check the registry for orphan entries, the lis of chaos goes on and on! (Ps SE told me to go to their corporate web page then go to support to get the latest PC Suite I did this but still wont work)
3. SE have told me that I need to do a Firmware Update right away but as even SE cant find a reason as to why my PC will not recognise my P990 I am still some way from achieving even this! I am now awaiting a call from their third line support desk, but I am advised they are "quite busy" at present
4. Apart from that lot I do not have much to report as I cant get the phone in any real condition for a proper evaluation until I can sync it, and I am a very long way from that at present.
One last thing, I know I upset a few members here when I mentioned early adopters were "Beta Testers" I meant no offence but was concerned that people were paying lots of money for a product that I felt would be problematic.
SE's tech team told me today "Sorry mate we are getting literaly 100's of calls a day now on this phone you are all really just "Beta testing" the phone for SE not my words his! So I am currently a Beta Tester too! but unless they can get their act together fairly quickly I wont be for long!!!
They have apparently had had business managers screaming at them as they have sold them for companys and are getting shouted at quite a bit, I felt quite sorry for them.
I am very disapointed in the phone so far

Really? Thats too bad. The phone that I got is still doing good upto now. No problems yet. It hanged ones, but is totally my fault. I tried to access a site that is probably too big for the P990 to handle thru wifi. Other than that, its great.
I will probably push thru with the reformat. Not just because I want to install the PC Suit, but because some of my apps are not working properly anymore. Like my Photoshop CS2 and Photo Impact. And I really need those.
Thanks again for the info. More power to you.

It's not buggy at all for me. Yes there are niggles but only the same as any new phone. The problem with reading here is that people will only ever post their problems etc so things look far worse than they are.
My biggest niggle so far is I'm not sure the battery is up to the job. Mine goes through it in about a day and half.

Just installed the swissman. There is this setting where you can set close/end application on flip close. This is real useful to conserve precious RAM and avoid phone auto restart due to lack of memory.

Hi all,
Whilst i can understand peoples frustration at not being able to get the phone they want now. Does it not make sense that these networks keep delaying the release for a good reason? As releaseing a phone with so many problems cause them too many headaches as of course they want to sell phones to you and take your money so there must be a good reason for it. To those that say you only hear of people with problems it is more than just a few people and not just here either is it?

Or maybe voda are seling that many that SE are sending all their supplies to them thus meaning the other networks have to wait? consider all options before making statements like that above.
