Just hope I don't encounter the same problems with the new Nokia once I try to synchonise it.

LOL @ 786KBR's lack of faith in my abilities...didn't you know that in a previous life I was mystic healer? I'm waiting to unlock the mysteries of the N70 which have seemingly left you pulling your hair out.

I'll let you know once I get the phone how the task of synchorinising it with Outlook is going...I doubt it's as painful as you've described.

@Brix, I guess the fact that he is a 'Nokia hatter' may play a part too No problems on my site - what so ever. For a change Nokia is supplying working, useful software with the package. And if you use the 'GNU Box' even back ground sync is possible ! ( Phone will sync with Laptop/Pc without user input as long as they are previously paired and within bluetooth range)
A while back I've stumbled online over a 'brilliant' 18 years old from Maputo. He is the most clued up person what S60/N70 concerns - I ever met ! (And trust me, I met quite a few from 'engineers' to backward 'mechanics' over the last 4 years or so). Here is his web address for the ones who care about Symbian S60/Nokia N70.

Will definitely check out the site.

Just downloaded the alpha version(?) of TCPMP...It's supposed to be the best media player for UIQ this side of the Smartmovie universe but seemingly I can't get it to work...if Ive got some more time will check for other version.

You just reminded me of my Nokia-toting Bosses who couldn't change the ringtones and I had to do it for them. I always wondered why ringtones was hidden somewhere in "Profiles".

I haven't owned a Nokia yet, but I hope to someday.

Speaking of problems with that Finnish monster, this morning I had to set-up a colleagues GPRS...he's on Cell C and he uses a 6101.

For all people outside SA, Cell C is possibly the worst network to use for GPRS...the process of setting it up is convuluted and using a Series 40 phone doesn't make it much easier.

I got the phone set up for GPRS only realise that only a certain amount of memory is reserved for video, pics and tones...which makes downloading anything a mission implausible.

@Areafada: I don't think anyone disputes the fact that Nokia phones are user friendly- that's the reason they're number one in sales.

What 786KBR is specifically mentioning is the fact that synchonising the phone with something like Outlook is painful.

BTW, who here uses Cell C GPRS? I've noticed that in their cell info they also display "EDGE, 3G, HSDPA enabled" which probably means that soon they'll be launching 3G and HSDPA services, it's probably still on trial.

I love South Africa because we're a country of so many ironies at times you can't help but laugh. Zuma wants to become president, this is how we deals with HIV/Aids.
