Another stress test. Ran both the P990 and M3100 over wifi and tried to listen to music via the HBH-DS970. Also downloaded a 1.5 mb video file from the BBC web site. The M3100 stopped music to headphones during the download but the P990 was fine in addition it suffered no interruptions in music playback.

@mrvanx,

no I am using the Orange supplied ROM at the moment. I will look to flash whichever ROM is the best in the next week or so - so looking for feedback from you & masseur (I think he's trying the imate ROM).

Generally, when using BT or peforming tasks that involve BT (e.g. refreshing services of a BT device) the M3100 is very slow and sluggish. Obviously pointing to a s/w issue.

EDIT: but overall BT is much much better than on the HTC Universal

Been using the P990i the last couple of weeks. It's slow, but generally the multimedia has been very good compared to the tytn. I just wished that the P990 had the speed of the tytn and that the tytn had better multimedia support like on the P990. I guess we can't have them all.

Have people who've been using the tytn find that the keyboard and stylus is getting loose? I haven't used mine for that long and I'm not a power user, but for those whom use the keyboard constantly, has the keyboard slide become a problem?

My keyboard still feels tight and locks into place when opened or closed. I rarely use the stylus so its still pretty hard to get out. Only about a month old, so time will tell.

Regarding the multimedia, how is the P990i better? More media format support? I use my TyTN for music via A2DP with WMp 10 (no movies) and dont notice any deficiencies. Just use Cyberon to start my playlist and im away.

In my experience, the sound is better coming from the P990i. The connection via A2DP is better as well. I always get these slight pauses during song play while listening to music with bt set.

This is probably a software or hardware glitch, but WM10 fails to read my memory card so I can't use it to play music. I have to use a 3rd party software. It worked ok for awhile, but than all of a sudden stopped working. I bought another card and the same thing happened. Also WM does not support playlists.

Also, the Tytn slows to a crawl when I use the media player with another application. I'm not sure why this happens.

Finally, the camera is better in the P990. The pictures are clearer, but it's probably because of auto focus.

Yes, I'm sure it all can be fixed with a ROM update, but right now when I bring my phone with me to work and I listen on the bus, it's just better for me in terms of sound, multitasking, and connection quality.

Right, the promised question!

Got my 1Gb micro-SD card this morning, so now have plenty of space to download applications, and I'm raring to get going - anyone know the best place to go to get really good downloads, mainly business and time management programs, etc.

Had the Tytn a few days now, and still loving it - no screen issues, no keyboard or stylus issues, not frozen, works immediately - i.e. no delays, etc, it's super-speedy, as is internet access or email download via 3G. Not yet tested multimedia, but will start to do so now I have the memory card. But so far it gets 10/10!
