@Zed
I've been using SMP 1.7 since it came out and I've noticed a few things:
1) 'End All' function closes all apps but unlike SMP 1.6, it is displayed closing the apps layer by layer, one at a time making the cleanup process really slow
2) Reclaim Memory Level 3 also takes longer as compared to v1.6 without noticeable improvement in performance
3) I still can't open some apps in the background with SMP in FC mode that are FC-compatible ie camera app

Are there explainations for these issues or are they just bugs to be ironed out in the next version?

The speed of cleanups is dependent on what is currently running. It should not necessarily be any slower than previously.

Applications that have a registered FC view can be switched to in FC mode without restriction. Other applications can be as well, provided the FC view checking option is set to off.

Thanks for the info, now I know what the FC view checking function is for. It's great now that I can launch apps in FC when that function is unchecked, but it seems that when it is checked, the FC registered programs (ie camera) still won't launch in FC and it would prompt me to open the flip.

Just tested, and you are right, Camera behaves like a non-FC program. However, the reason is that Camera indeed does not have a regular FC-view (unlike Messages, Contacts, etc.), as far as reported by the OS. So, you need to disable the FC-view-check option of SMP.

Swiss Manager (Free Edition) 1.80 has been released. The new version contains numerous improvements for optimum performance, and is a prelude to the upcoming release of Swiss Manager Elite 2.00.
