first of all i must say that example c902 (and upcoming c905) CMOS sensor produce better pictures then I-mobile902..... (its only night shoots from i-mobile ive seen who have better quality then c902/c905).
just because its a CCD sensor, it dosent mean it produce overall stunning pictures. besides, there are many high quality cameras with cmos sensor now days... Canon EOS and so on.
im very pleased with

new cmos sensors........

@yea g
the i-mobile 902 actually has 30fps vga video recording, silky smooth i may say
@plankgatan
i have to disagree, the only phone camera that outshine i-mobile at daylight pic is vodafone 903sh, no cameraphone can outshine i-mobile at night pic, it has long shutter speed, plus a mechanical shutter, 903sh & 902 both have a ccd camera. Please get the fact right. And SE's tiny whiny cmos sensor can't be compared to those at least 1/2.5" cmos size of those DSLR camera.

Shame Canon don't make camphones then innit, because the cheap/nasty CMOS sensors fitted to most phones bear zero relation.
Ask yourself this, why do nearly all compact cameras have CCD sensors, and all the ultra cheap chinese trash use CMOS ones

I know you like your C902 very much and I can understand that you feel that no other camera phone beats it. Your love has blinded you. When you buy the next camera phone from

you will start critizing the C902 - just as you do today when you and Vipera argue about the K750.

You only get quality when the sensor is very large. When the size of each cell (pixel) on the sensor is large enough the number of photons striking it generates a strong enough signal for the noise to be at an acceptable level.
Only one well-known camera producer have so far used CMOS in a P&S digicam: Kodak with their C513. Search Flickr for sample shots from it and you'll see that these look just like typical camphone photos

Well, actually a little bit better since it has a bigger lens and a good flash.

Yes, I do agree it's a good looking phone.
I had the chance to try it out for a couple of hours. The camera is extremely tedious as you have to take several shots with different settings before you get a good photo. And that lens cover that must be wiped of fingerprints before shooting is something that the responsible designer at SE should be fired for!
