It's only the best thing out there by miles if it's what you want and like as is any device.

Personally i couldn't stand it as it drove me nuts, my most used app is the PIM and having those stupid spinning time rolls to select start and end times drove me demented.

So did the E-Mail app that pushed all my Yahoo E-Mails including all my FFFFING spam, and worst of all to delete an E-Mail needs to be done twice once in the E-Mail app and then once again from the rubbish bin now that really isn't advanced or user friendly is it?

The Web browser also less than impressed me as it wouldn't remember settings never mind for ever not even for each session every page needed changing to the view i wanted.

But as i said if it's what you or anyone else likes or loves fair enough use it and enjoy it but please realise it may be the best thing for you but not everyone else sees it that way. This has nothing to do with hate or jealousy just that we don't all like or want the same things from our devices is all. i mean i loved my E90 but never expected everyone else to see it as their perfect device and only defended it from people saying it was rubbish which just wasn't true. I am not saying the iPhone is rubbish either just not the right device for me is all but at least i can quantify why it's wasn't great for me.

Marc

What settings do you mean? Perhaps I am not aware of what settings can be applied? When I am surfing the page looks fine and doesnt need anything done except a double tap to zoom in which it does perfectly.

But he already did so the point of your post is?

And as I said on MR I have had tonnes of phones this year. You see the difference is I am talking from experience. I tried the N82, tried the Diamons, tried the Omnia and now have the iphone. Perhaps you should try everything before you critisise with usual 'tripe'.

Waiting for the new headset, the one with the built in mic and volume and basic music keys cos changing tracks is a bit of a hassle with the TS. I dont suppose anyone knows if the iphone will be supporting the extra buttons on it? Bit early I guess though its expected to be released sometime soon.

Just installed, 2.1. So far its an excellent upgrade, performance wise its made the 3G iphone as good if not faster than the 1G iphone. Genius playlist is really useful, loads of anoying bug have been corrected, good stuff.

agreed. 2.1 does seem to give much better and consistant 3g reception now

so anyway, did anyone buy the much anticipated payg today?

also, any recommendations for a turbo style unlock solution? I'll be off to oz again soon and would like to use my Telstra sim while back home. I see there are some now that don't require cutting

I seen it advertised on pay and go in Carphone store today. Guess they followed O2 stores.

I'm not surprised there were no queues although there did seem to be huge demand for payg a couple of months ago!

anyway, the Remote application has been updated today, changes are:-

- Create genius playlists
- Create and edit playlists in Itunes

nice update

Yep, got a white pay and go today too! No queues, and only one out of 3 o2 shops where i live had them, and only the 16gb models. Neither carphone warehouse had any, although they had little leaflets. The women in the o2 store had a list of instructions as she didnt seem to know what she was doing. Its a normal contract iphone, and they just give you a seperate pay and go sim. My existing o2 number and credit transfered to the 3g sim within 2 hours, which was ace. plus i got £120 credit for being a 'loyal customer'. Hmm!

Everything worked straight away. Free Internet, wifi, gps.

Better than expected anyway!
