Unfornately I have to tell you that s not a software problem, it s a hardware problem.
I had the same problem on my K850 and I reflashed 2 times and it didnt work.
I had to replace the LCD screen so its working fine again.
I recomed you take it to a service center if it still has warrantry.
(sorry for my bad enlish)

yesterday only i figured it out ... whenever i pressed the keypad( not the keys ) the display would switch off...
the keypad and its undersurface is biggest faulty design....
gave it to service today... lets see....

In java application you can increase the text size in settings. In inbuild web browser you can increase the size by pressing 0 button and press up/down button to increase/decrease. Is it sorts your prob.
