@Rex:

I spent a lot on a DSS-25 only to use SEUS. Surprisingly it messed up my phone without giving me any new FW!

I may have it reflashed at a service centre some day.

Yes, that's why I also bought the syncstation.

The people on esato, who check the being of new fw on SE US from time to time as I did, and always state there is no new fw, they had better check their log instead of checking SE US.
I'm still sure, that there is new available fw on net (think of Scriptversion in log!), but I think many people have already corrupted fw. And if I think well, they are unable to update their mobile.

One more interesting thing, point to your intention to reflashing your mobile at a service center.
When I discovered my corrupted fw, I went to our official SE service, and they reflashed my mobile. It didn't help...
They said, the current software is such. Is this good, isn't it?!?

I hope you will have more luck!

@Rex:

Thanks a lot for the info.

When I read mySEUSlog for the first time, I noticed that the ScriptVersion was R2A003 while my existing R2L001 FW was 'updated' to R2L001. I thought that SE had put R2A003 on SEUS, but since R2A003 was buggy, it put R2L001 back on SEUS. I guessed that SE forgot to modify their SEUS completely so that SEUS still thought R2A003 was the FW to be dispatched instead of the actual R2L001 being dispatched. That was why SEUS didn't tell us: your phone has the latest FW (R2L001); no need to update. SEUS then went on to update, and since R2L001 was the FW on SEUS, R2L001 was flashed. Do you see what I mean?

K700 FW R2L001 ----> SEUS Checksum: R2A003 Available (SE forgot to modify SEUS checksum version to R2L001 after it had withdrawn R2A003) ----> Upgrade: Flash to R2A003 (Since R2L001 was the actual FW on SEUS, R2L001 was flashed to phone instead of R2A003) ----> K700 FW R2L001

That was just my guess. Waiting for R2AE to come out on SEUS.

Yes, I think I see what you wrote. But if we presume the scriptversion is just a "text", then this doesn't explain, why our fw damaged is! To reflash same fw with same fw cannot cause problem.

Yes - and even worse - when I just tried an update using online update service - it suddenly lost connection to the phone during the update - and now its totally dead. Tried recovery mode several times and no go. Cannot initialise the phone. (Ive updated successfully before using online update service)

Now I have to send it to a servicecentre

dammit - grrrrrrrrr

I think few of us suggested to all of you not to ise SE Update Service at the moment and people still do. I don't understand why... so many people had problem with it!

i can only suggest again not to use SE US at the moment

well - Ive used it without problems before - and only read this thread after my rescent attempt to update.

Besides it is the official online update service on S//E website and its still online - you should be able to feel safe using it - no matter what some "stranger" on a forum advice you to.

For all I know - you could be some nokia fan - only trying to spread bad roumors about the online update service (of cource I know you are not - but just as an example)

For an unknowing user - the official website should be a more trustworthy source than any forum user in these matters. He shouldent have to visit an unofficial forum and try to deside what info is right and what is wrong on the official website - you find just as much nonsense info in these forums as you find good info. Ive been around long enough to know that

Heres my logfile if anyone can make anything out of it:
