Believe it or not, I started internet banking today...I've actually signed for more then a year but never used it because I was scared of all the scams around.
@da krypsta: I feel for you my brother...I hate admininstrative things, in the next couple of weeks I have to fill out my tax return...no, guess what? I'll do it on the internet.

Do you guys still have to pay for internet banking. Here in the UK its free - no service charges at all. I do absolutely everything this way - pay all my bills, transfer money to other accounts etc.
If I need cash I go to an atm or get cash-back at the checkout when doing groceries. You can even get cash-back from some corner shops. If I need to speak to someone I call the telephone banking part of my bank. While typing this I had to think very hard to recall the last time I set foot in my bank and it is well over 2 years or so.
Regarding security, its as safe as chip-and-pin can be, but there's always someone that will find a loophole same as with anyting else.

I seem to remember when I used to bank at Volkskas (oops, sorry, ABSA) and internet banking just started, there was a monthly fee that you got charged.

There probably is a fee charged for internet banking but it's so minimal that I hardly notice it on my bank statement.

I mentioned ABSA's internet banking charges about a year back on this thread, but can't be that bothered to search for it now using my P900,while I wait patiently for the broadband internet to be activated at our new shack. If I remember correctly,ABSA is/ was charging just under R20 a month, before I terminated my ABSA account back then.
I've spent most of yesterday and today wiring up the lounge and Mrs A's music studio for Dolby Pro Logic surround sound with Gale speaker-wiring.What a boring,time-consuming and monotonous job!
Oh well, hopefully be worth it when I finish installing the remaining hardware tomorrow, pop a DVD in and crank up the volume...
@ da brixsta,
N70 still on the horizon?

Yep, like I said in another post the where I signed on for my new contract tell me they'll only have fresh stock after June 10. The wait is pretty annoying.

Just read my previous post and I'm embarassed, this happens quite a lot- I write gibberish. It's probably because I'm always in a rush when posting.?@bradboy: Haven't decided whether I'll sell the P910. Won't quite call it a precious, it's a workhouse but definitely not precious.??PS: Went to an MTN dealership at Canal Walk and the shortage of N70 stock seems to be widespread.
