@superleeds27

I've had mine crash and switch itself off, but only very rarely (once or twice in 3 months), and only in the first month & half.

@gtr83

When you close the slider is closed, the screen no longer works. It used to, but I can no longer see who is ringing me when the screen is closed. It tries to display, but I just get a black screen with a white line near the bottom.

I've tried closing the slider very slowly, and the phone locks ok and displays ok, all the way down until it reaches the very bottom of the slide.

I re-installed the latest firmware from Sony last night, but that had no effect.

I don't know why, but the slider mechanism on C905 seems to put an excessive strain on the small connector wires inside its body. Various issues relating to this have happened to a lot of users, such as nonresponsive keypads, dead screens and dead earpieces.

Hiya

There is actually a tutorial how to do it for free on these forums somewhere (cant find it now though!) ive done it myself though and it works perfectly, all you do is change a file in your phone, and then you use SEUS to update it, because you have changed this file SEUS recognises it as a generic unbranded phone, so will then re-install the generic software back onto it. I will try the link for it, but like i say its on here somewhere.

I also used davinci on my previous c905 and it worked no problems, just im on my 4th handset after the earpiece problem etc, and was getting sick of shelling out £8 everytime i got a new handset.

hi mate!

found it! http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=178734

it says orange, but its for any handset! and believe me the method looks alot more technical than it is, just follow it step by step and it really is quite simple,

whole process i would say takes 10-15mins, and best of all it's free!!

Well the screen is completely dead now. Sending it to Vodafone for repairs, apparently they only take a maximum of 14 days.

It does mean I'm having to use a £15 Nokia I've just purchased. It's like having my arm cut off.
