^^^^^^ Same here.. My phone will be on its way back to me from SE repair center soon. Has anybody else here had their phone repaired recently? Does it come back with the new firmware installed?

THX!

Got my Voda K850i back today, from repair due to touch screen buttons breaking and it came back with the new 031 firmware and a letter telling me they had updated it so no need for me too now. TBH the camera flash is better i haven't had chance to see what battery life is like only has it since this morning and it had a flat battery anyway.

Not had any restarts yet, media menu (pictures etc) does'nt seem to have got better really not as responsive as it could be. One thing that did annoy me is it had lost all my numbers stored on the phone, now i don't now whether they did it or the new firmware wipes them of but when i last updated to 038 it din't do this :S

When I called SE they told to back up all my contacts.. They said that stuff I had on the phone (contacts, installed apps/games) were liable to get deleted at the repair shop. Keep ur contacts backed up to your SIM or on your Comp is the best thing to do in any case.

Thanks for the info, hopefully mine comes back with 031 installed.

In light of this threads ( ) findings of the video here ( ); I'm beginnig to think harder - had this though late last wk - if a file (AAC/MP3/jpeg/et) is referenced by the media manager (since its SLOOW to find over 4GB of audio files), if its the cause of firmware crashes.

Ok today I Received my 6th K850i

1 to 4 Se K850i were are faulty and was replaced under the 30 day agreement.
5th one I have sold as I fancied the Black and Silver one to which i received today from O2

My Thoughts are so far

The phone is A Lot nicer than I thought it would be and the Black round the sides are of a matt finish which is really nice to feel.

The bottom of the phone is solid. No creaks, no looseness and fits 100%.

To be honest the phone feels solid too. All thought my 5th one felt sold, just had a slightly creaky bottom some times.

Ive never had any probs with the camera shutter not opening on any of my phones and this one doesnt feel any different. It opens and closes nicely.

The phone was built in 08W10 so its just over a week old which Im happy with

The phone came with R1EA031 firmware.

However its slighlty different to my updated R1EA031 on my old K850i Velvet Blue one.

On the New R1EA031 (Black K850i)
The o2 theme, startup, shutdown and screensaver pictures can no longer be removed as these are now predefined items.

a couple of the ringtones on the new phone also cant be removed.

The o2 theme, startup, shutdown and screensaver pictures on the updated from R1DA038 to R1EA031 can all be removed but do return on the Master Reset.

No other changes regarding the software though just these.

If any one wants to ask me any questions then please do so.

Regarding the build tho, It just feels like the phone should have always been. so Im hoping after a month or so that I still dont have any Creaks etc

@darrengf;

Sweet news on the QuickSilver Black K850i finally shipping. Dude you're going to be the source for a few days/wks on that being exported over to Canada/US!

Can you post pictures of the startup, home screen & also names of the ringtones, finally a shot if you can access RSS Feeds, PLEASE?!

Thanks in advance.
