Ok, I've got a PC problem now!
We've got a basic PC at work which came with WinXP on it. We promptly wiped that and installed Linux on it for testing purposes. Now we want to go back to WinXP.
I've got the original bootable install CD that came with the PC, but it refuses to start-up from it properly.
I've set the boot order in the BIOS thing to use the CD-ROM first. It comes up with a message:
"Press any key to boot from CD"
which I do, then this message comes up:
"Setup is inspecting your computers hardware configuration"
then the screen goes blank, the CD spins a bit then absolutely nothing else happens!
Any ideas?
The CD worked before we installed Linux as I partitioned the drive initially and re-installed Windows, so the CD should be ok.

@Jools:
You could also try setting the bios for fail safe defaults, then setting the boot order with the CD-ROm first.
If it "freezes" try pressing the caps key to see if the computer has infact frozen or if its just old and slow

@cyco or anyone who knows, I have had a problem with my internet for about a week now, i have not changed any settings. Since a week ago i cannot connect to the esato website when i am at home... The page either doesnt load or i get the lil x boxes where all the pics or banners are.... But when im in work (like now) it works fine??? im puzzled, i had the same prob a few years back with another site and a windows reinstall solved the prob but i really want to avoid that at all costs as i dont have the time to do it...
Anyone shine any light on this lil bugger?
As ive said i have not chnaged any settings so it shoule be nothing to do with anything i could potentially manually change...
By the way im on NTL (i know theyre poo, but they are all i can have

)...
Thanks everyone!

Is it just esato or does it happen with other sites as well?
If you've already cleared the cache and it hasn't helped, you can try these two fixes:
Winsock fix:
http://www.webattack.com/get/winsockxpfix.html
IEFix:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm
