danroyea..another thing..it doesn't sound like the fw belonged to me. My were R5D007_ESF named..and the talk time sounded high as well as the joystick count...you might want to clear this up with funks...if you want, there is another place I put the files...let me know and you can have the direct download path. But really, I don't think I put any T68m stuff up there, I'm really not interested in t68m stuff, just t68i and R5D007 in diff language sets. Let me know.
AV,
Those T68m-R5D007 files were just re-zipped from your zip files.. I'll re-download them again from the orig site and make it available as is.
Your T68m came from one2one right?

Interesting test results.
Flashing the phone with a NULL AVR - resulted in a phone that won't turn on, nevertheless, I was still able to reflash the AVR using the KILLAVR method (even though it looked dead, and should have been dead).
Notes, on the KILLAVR method -
If you KILLAVR load your phone using your BACKUP, you won't really need the losFile.bin (as the AVR file has the GDFS settings embedded in)
If you KILLAVR load your phone using a different FIRMWARE, you need to have an IMEI record in your losFile.bin (FULL mode), then do a "recovery" by chosing your IMEI on the recovery tab.

Hi
Anyone succeeded in flashing a T68 H/W and S/W R1B to R5D without BT and battery problems? If so, what software did you use and where did you buy your logs? And where did you get the firmware?
AV0135's R5D007 was from an R1B source T68m.. North American Language Set - (US, Spanish, French).

funks...t68m I had may have been euro or hong kong version. I picked it up earlier in the year in LA...a predominantly chinese area...anyways, I flashed it originally with the Eastern Euro version, then gsmphonesource in Vegas did an emma2 flash to Western Euro set, I believe, because it has the French, Spanish, English and Portuguese....and this is how I believe it ended up with one 2 one.
Anyways, I got my new Cingular t68i back from emma2 in Vegas, but was told that emma2 still recognized it as a Cingular phone and would not allow me to flash anything but North American language set on it. This is after I already flashed it with my latest R5DEuro...so there is something in the hardware that original service providers hardcode and can't be removed from simple flashing.
Let me know...

Av,
From what I know the Emma II check the IMEI to determine which language set and upgrades that the phone eligible. That's why using the EMMA II method, you cannot go from t68i to t68ie for example....
So the only way to get around this is the non-emma II flashing methods. Or if you can change your IMEI (but then it is illegal from what i know).

sevenfire...ahhh so simple and yet I overlooked it...yes, I believe that you are absolutely correct about the hardware imei verification that emma2 does. But then again, I'm caught b/n a rock and a hard place...I only want emma2 to to update phone because I want to dump the clean fw to post for you guys, with diff lang. sets. But I can't go and change the imei number very readily, can I? Unles I don't intend to use the phone...can I paste a valid imei number from a phone say, in europe, let emma2 flash it, and than paste the imei (orig.) back again to dump the fw...what do you guys think?
Definitely not anticipating doing anything illegal..never, but in the interest of get better fw...not even inserting a chip...oh well, other than that, pretty stuck now.

AV,
I never tried to change IMEI using the client before, so i dunno if it works or not. I know in other forum, some people said it works fine and others said it screwed up the phone. Anyway it is your phone man, whatever you do with your phone, only you know

...so it's up to u..just be careful

.
I'm personally thankful for your effort to provide us with good firmwares. Keep the good work!:).

Here's another success story for the BT failure fix following the procedure I talked about
Quote:
Hi,
Gdaswani, greeeeat news!
I decided to risk a little bit more... I flashed a T68i (Bluetooth problems) with the R5C AVR firmware, then the blank ARM. Then, reseted the phone again and flashed the ARM part of the R5C firmware. It worked! Bluetooth now works fine!
Many thanks!
Julio
