Something else I've just realised
updating the firmware has wiped my words that had been added to the T9 dictionary, a minor point, but it's bloody irritating
for future reference, next time SE do a shambolic roll out of new firmware on the C905, anyone know how to avoid losing your words?

It'll always happen because when a firmware upgrade takes place everything on the flash memory gets wiped. It didn't used to be like this on older SE phones, but on all the new ones everything gets deleted. I'm quite sure there is a way to recover them though.. I don't know it unfortunately.

Hi,
I know this may have been answered elsewhere, so if so, I apologise....
I have a SIM free C905, and I'm currently debating whether I actually want the new firmware. First of all, I'm in the UK. I haven't tried updating yet, and wondered if the new firmware was ready to download from SEUS in the UK (Haven't been able to check yet as haven't had access to my home PC for weeks).
Secondly, is it actually worth doing? I've read a few posts from people who say there seem to be other issues with the firmware, and others where they have reported it being quicker, better camera, etc.
Is the conversations threading definitely not available in the UK on unbranded handsets?
Any advise would be greatly received!
Thanks

Does updating the firmware make A2Uploader not to work anymore? I want to still be able to add flash menus.

I've just updated my Orange UK handset (debranded). I set CDA to 1214-7311 and then used SEUS and I now have Smile Shutter, SMS Conversations, You Tube, Walk Mate and a GPS utility for jogging.
Changes noticed so far:-
* Now the accelerometer function works lightning fast for photos and web browser auto rotation.
* Slightly faster startup.
* Now says connecting using "mobile network" instead of "2g/3g"
* Tells you that SMS validity is set to 1 week when sending a message
