wait wait wait... sencond try
100x is total number of apples (x is the number of baskets)
so after 1 step the total is:
100x - x
then after 2nd step
100x-2x and so forth
till the 100th step
100x-99x
we are trying to reach 50 therefore
100x-99x=50
x(100-99)=50
x(1)=50
x=50 baskets!!!
