LOL yeah, this is an area of all things cellphone-related where SA is so much better than the UK, no question.

I just heard that MTN is cutting prepaid call per second rates from R3.20 to R1.99 per minute for peak times.
Thats not too bad now is it?
(JUST WISH IT WAS NOT ONLY BETWEEN 5 AND 8PM)

Two of the new Nokias have now become available at a few established independent UK cellphone retailers.
Mobilefun now has the folding QWERTY-equipped E70 in stock and mphone have just taken delivery of the N71.
And still no sign or mention of the P990i....

Hey! I am new to esato:great to see so many fellow people from down here...that is...SA:)
Question: I am looking to upgrade the firmware on my W900i: what would be the best(safest) way to do it? I had a big crash on my phone, and checked the firmware: my great great grandfather had the same firmware during the groot trek... I need to update. Who here has, preferably a Vodacom subscriber.
Looking forward to be on these forums more!

Try a Vodacare, they do it for free and it doesnt affect your warranty, or if you brave check out pappfer.hu
and welcome!

@francios: I second the advice from 786KBR, just pop down to your nearest Vodacare shop and they should have your W900i sorted in a day...if you're living in a place like Ongeluksfontein then the best bet would be to do it either through the SE Update Service which can be found on the official site, Davinci or that Hungarian site mentioned by Kabir.

Welcome Francois, nice to see another new face on the thread.
I see that Virgin is targeting the "youth demographic" with free beer and kebabs during the World Cup. I wonder if something similar will happen here during 2010... Simply send a text message to a Virgin short-code number, and an electronic voucher is yours... Collect free beer and kebabs from a special Virgin-mobile vendor
