well, after deleting the DB file, i start the SEUS again, waited for a while till it asked me to connect my phone, i did it holding the 'c' as usual till SEUS tells me to release it - i think it did recognise my phone other words it wouln't have asked me to release the 'c' don't you think? And after releasing the 'c', it says my phone already has the current software and that there are no available update. i could see a w800i phone on the SEUS i think that means SEUS is able to detect my phone.
I was wondering that since, i had gone far yesterday up to to the point were SEUS says ' phone updating don't touch your phone' and then there was a break in internet connection, i think that may have somehow done some unfinished task on my phone. My phone is still off! i don't have the slightest idea of what next to do. i'm frustrated! Esatonians! PLZ help!

A few questions. Did you try to reconnect cable to another USB port? Did you try to hold return button and simultaneously hold power button for 15-20 seconds to turn on the phone? Before it did you try to eject battery for 2-4 hours? After SEUS said your phone already has the current software and that there are no available update, did you see the button on SEUS screen called (i don't know its correct name in English) flash anyway or flash again. If you had no this button, you need to uninstall your updater fully (with deleting catalogue Update in Program Files/Sony Ericsson) and install previous version of Updater (UpdateService_Inst_2.2.11b.exe - look it for in google or try link in Russia

Could somebody please help me overcome this. So far, i have tried a master reset, re-istalling drivers/software (java/updater/usb drivers etc); none of which have helped. I repeatadely get the same error at the same stage every time.
As far as i know, my phone still works normally but has alot more menu lag and the camera still takes photos after the shutter sound, proving that my phone is not fully updated.

can anybody help me? i still can't get it to work.

Close down the updater
Delete the DB folder located @ Program Files/Sony Ericsson/Update/DB
and try the update again. this will make sure the updater re downloads the firmware for your phone. it my have been corrupted when you downloaded it

I also tried updating on another computer but it still doesn't work either.

With uninstalling my current updater, don't understand what you mean by "deleting catalogue Update in Program Files/Sony Ericsson" Do you mean i delete the folder Update after fully uninstalling? Please elaborate on that. I also tried downloading the previous Russia version of SEUS from the link you gave me but it doesn't seem to be working.
I'll try searching again through google as you said. thanks hope it works. i'll keep sending posts on any progress.
I also want to encourage any other idea from any Esatonian.

Yes, after uninstalling program through Control Panel you need to delete this folder manually.

this link is only for downloaders from Russia I think.
There is repeated flash button in this version of updater (2.2.11b), but hope you’ll turn on your phone earlier.

Everytime I use the latest SEUS (2.6.5.5) it just says I have the latest software but I know I am running R1AA008 which is now old!!
