Well i have a w43 model and was running the earliest firmware. Riba038. Today i upgraded to BA042 and my earpiece stopped working. So i guess we know who the culprit is.
I am sure I did a software update just before my ear piece broke the first time. A day later after the new software the earpiece went.

Do you think backdating it to the previous firmware can solve the issue?? SE really innovates in terms of problems caused.

But i really love my C905 and hope to get the matter solved in a few days.

just look in the C905 hardware & software issues and you will se that somebody explained why it's a hardware fault. I think in your case it's a coincidence that your earpiece broke when you updated

Dont think its a coincidence. Even SE80 her had updated his firmware before the earpiece broke.

I noticed something after the update. The image quality of my shots have degraded compared to before the upgrade! I'm annoyed by this!

Who regrets buying a C905?
I had high expectations for this phone, having a K800 for over 2 years, I knew I really wanted a phone with an Xeon Flash, as I take photos while out in the evening more than any other time. I loved the idea of having a phone with Wifi, GPS and a better camera than I already had.
Well I bought the phone the week it came out sim-free and after several months here’s my opinion:
Firstly the battery life is terrible, my K800 would last for 2-3 days with heavy usage before needing a charge. The C905 needs charging every night even if I turn off Bluetooth, GPS and WIFI.
At the moment phone GPS is a total gimmick, if it’s in your pocket or indoors it loses signal. The aGPS should be much better integrated, if you lose GPS signal aGPS should be intelligent enough to make an educated guess as to where you are when not receiving a signal, and as soon as you are in an area that can get signal it connect pretty much instantly. It’s also very battery intensive.
The camera is ok, but in all honesty I don’t think the photos come out any better than on my k800. The camera can also be very slow to respond at times.
Wifi is ok, but I’m finding it very slow. I can only summarise this must be down to the phone as all my other devices work fine over the network. Also the media sharing is very temperamental. I often have to reboot the phone when transferring files wirelessly.
Almost all of the software which SE promised the phone would be bundled with hasn’t been released. Where are apps like NearMe?
The 3rd party apps I have downloaded are awful. They take a long time to load and often crash. I know this isn’t all SE fault, but is there any good software around for this phone? I would happily pay for a good PDF reader and a decent Twitter client.
All in all, I’m disappointed. I’m going to keep hold of the phone for now and hopefully the next firmware update will make a big difference, I’d jump ship tomorrow though if the apple put a half decent flash on the Iphone.
