C'mon Ambroos! You seem to be the only one who has any info on this so please update with anything else you may know now, or once you learn more!
Even if it's completely non-mobile related, the prospect of Sony finally making their own OS is very interesting as it'll be something for them to use in tying together all their products into a single ecosystem.

Hard to say, really. Vita OS has had small updates here and there, but they've apparently held off on major updates to add basic features like folders, or the ability to have more than 10 screens or 100 icons. Either they're just not trying too hard, or they're holding off because something bigger is coming. I'd thought they were waiting for a massive update to go along with the PS4 launch, but I suppose a redesigned OS is a possibility too.
I would imagine whatever OS this is, it'll be based on the Playstation OS as that's Sonys own home-built OS. Kaz has even brought it up a couple of times in various interviews, so I figured they were working on something.
If this news can mean a phone capable of playing Vita games this year, I'll get it. Screw the phablet and 2H flagship. If it means such a phone next year, then yeah I'll get the phablet or 2H flagship. I'm already skipping the ZL, can't wait that much longer.
I would also imagine if this is a new OS that we might see it on TVs and bluray players too. With the whole promise of PS4, cloud gaming and Gaikai streaming service, you could concievably play Playstation games directly from your TV over the cloud without needing a console.
