The president is the one who announced action...the authorities were being very patient with those maulanas to avoid bloodshed...but they were unable to do so and the president announced the commencing of the operation....some people are hardcore militants and they are inside by choice, while others are ordinary religious students who want out but are being held hostage...
I agree, these maulanas are making a mockery of islam...One of the foremost rules of war,JIHAD, in Islam is that if the other side wants peace,u should readily oblige...wonder how the "authorities on religion" overlooked this simple commandment..

Ok ppl..Sherry is back with the latest from Lal masjid:
The other maulvi, Abdul Rashid, has been killed...his death has been confirmed...his last communication was in the form of an sms to a news channel, telling them that he is now left with only three of his close advisers...he had sent the remaining memebers of his family, including his wife and children, to his native village in order to save them....the lal masjid has now been taken over by the authorities..86 more people have been recovered, including women. The authorities hope to wrap up the whole episode within a few hours..the casualties are as yet unknown but at least a 100 of the militants have been killed...the identities of the remaining ppl in the mosque will be ascertained...if they are found innocent, they will be allowed to go...but militants will be detained...the last interview of the maulana is due to be aired in about 2 mins...just came online to fulfill my duties as a reporter, as appointed by maggflood

now im gonna catch the interview and then proceed to tell u people about what (in a way) the maulana's last words were...
this is reporter $herry signing off...
May peace be on u.
