the listing only states compatibility with Sony Ericsson P800,P900,P910i, but id imagine its compatible with p990i too right?

i have the holux gpslim236 gps receiver for my p990i and its fantastic with TT6 . However do people use the p990 with the flip open or closed because when my flip is open the screen locks and the navigation screen freezes. has anyone experienced this and how do you solve it.

I can now also confirm that the Holox BT-321 works perfectly with the P990i and TomTom Navigator. No disconnects at all, not even momentarily.

This is the first time I've never had a problem with TomTom and a GPS! !!

I know the battery doesn't last as long (12 hours) as my previous Qstarz GPS (30 hours) but I think it's just a standard Nokia-type battery which I'm sure I could replace for a better one.

I'm a happy P990 TomTom user

TomTom questions:

1 does any tomtom map work with TomTom for UIQ or are they specific for each operating system?

2 I have Western Europe v652.1185. Is there a newer version and any suggestions where to download?

Saludos

Hi

I have recently purchased and am using the TT6 WE software on my P990i with no trouble at all using the Holox BT321. However my question is regarding the P990 and the in-car cradle.

How have people installed this as i noticed after i bought it that it needs to be screwed in?? Is there any way around this so as to NOT damage the car??

Thanks for you help

Well, there are mounts(in which you screw or glue) for phone cradles available for various car models, there's one type were you fasten a plastic mount by snapping it on to one of the air channel regulators. The other model is sort of a frame you mount in the space where the car stereo sits, you'll have to slightly pull out your stereo, then mount the frame, and then push the stereo back into place, the latter only works on ISO-format stereobays though.

brightsounds, disable auto key lock. Remember that locking your phone only takes half a second to flick.

edit your screensaver settings in ctrl panel, i had the same problem, it locks after a few seconds when the keys lock.

Thank you very much for ur replies and PMs. It was a great help.

I found a website www.proclipusa.com which specialises in custom made mounts and holders, they appear to cater for all makes and models of both phones and cars, and the plus is that they ship to anywhere in the world.
