I had the same problem and solved it. You have to run again the update program, but you have to erase first, in your computer, everithing inside the file Sony Ericsson/Update Service/db. Good luck!!!

I cant force it to update the phone tried couple of times, keeps saying no updates available. I did not try with out men card, will do now and post the verdict. Thanks for your quick answer

I agree with gommace's opinion , but if it still didn't work, just take the phone to nearest SE Service and have them update the phone there.
Similar happened to my friend on his P910, we couldn't solve how to do it, so we took the phone to SE service and they fixed the phone in 30 minutes.
But in some countries it will take SE 2-3 days only to see what is wrong with the phone, I would call the SE service and tell them the importance of matter, maybe they will help you very quickly.

No luck. I get a message that the device connect to the usb port has malfunction and I cant force the update it keeps telling me “no updates available”. I will take the phone to my home and give it a try. Once again thanks for the quick answers guys appreciated

perhaps that version is the latest for your verison of P990i (check your CDA number)

Based on what the rumors are, there seems to be a firmware upgrade approximately every two weeks. Someone else said (maybe on the My-Symbian forum) that there was one due on the 29th. That's one day, so let's hope some people have good news to report starting tomorrow about it!
I just hope to be able to use Agile Mobile without it conking out when I try to send a smiley or access a menu item!
