We'll have to read a proper review to find out, but the new media manager looks a well upgrade for me in terms of UI

this new screen technology looks really awesome, the phone gets a so much better look. and it will also improve other things, like keping dirt/dust away, and also better view angle)

well, since we can use microsd instead of M2, we can get that coveted 8gbs sweet spot that the w960 holds.

oh yea! OH YEA!

cant wait. hopefully 16/32GB come out soon cuz i wouldnt mind 16gbs on my phone i could actually carry a respectable amount of music, albeit a fraction of what i want on me, but that coupled with 5mpx images and movies i can imagine how quickly itll get eaten up.

we dont know for sure how much capacity it can carry, some mini/micro SD phones do not support 4GB

Can we expect a review soon judging by those pics at M-R?

I think so. Eldar did the K800 review about a week later after the announcement

The white paper says it currently supports up to 4GB, but this could change in the final product.

Combo reader
The extra memory slot supports memory cards up to 4 GB. Different kinds of content (pictures, audio, video clips, etc.) can be stored on memory cards, and transferred to other memory cards – compatible consumer products, for example Sony digital cameras, camcorders, portable music players, TVs, photo printers and computers.

"Support for microSD. Sony Ericsson is the only on the market that allows for two types of cards on a single device – M2 and microSD – with the Sony Ericsson K850i being first of a kind, where you can insert either card into the slot. This is a reaction to the criticism on M2 cards going for more money than similarly sized microSD (which is not true).

The company has taken this step willingly, as it feels the opportunity to ship bigger cards a tad earlier than their microSD counterparts. The company couldn’t be happier with this scenario – if you need a more capacious memory card, you go for an M2, want to save some coins – you might want to look at microSD type."

Maybe it will have support for large m2 cards but only small microSD cards? That way sony will still get some revenue from memory card sales (especially larger ones with larger profit margins!)

I'm sure a Japanese SE phone had the dual slot first.
