You're probably not interested in the apps available only to jailbroken phones.
I did jailbreak my phone the day it became available to 3.1/3.1.2 iPhones, to regain tethering using the MyWi app from Rock.

I've had my iPhone 3GS for 4wks or more now and with 3.1.1 been able to tether since day 1 without jailbreaking. Tethering is a restriction of provider not the 3GS. for those getting replacements, careful cUss with new hardware chipsets rumor has it Apple did something to prevent jailbreaking. We'll found out soon enough.

Wow I really love this phone! Was on subway listening with stock remote headphones and playlist. I launched DrumSequencer app music faded and the drum sounds took over. Pressed the home button drum beats faded but music didn't auto start my playlist; I thought no way, now I'd have to pull out my phone in this crowd?? Nadda! Just pressed headset button once and bingo playlist began right where I left off; bliss!

Not entirely true. It's a restriction Apple applies to all carriers who have not signed agreements with Apple! To enable tethering on a non-jailbroken phone you need a signed carrier bundle file and Apple will only release these signed files to carriers that pay for this service. So forget about putting any SIM card in your phone if you want to use it as a modem.

Hey guys

I have decided that I am going to buy the Apple Iphone 16GIG 3GS handset. I am going to buy is on pay and go and put my monthly sim card in it. I am just waiting on getting the full money I sold my N97 for then put the cash towards the Iphone. I guess this is the phone for me. I had nokia's and s.e mobile phones, and at work I have had the iphone however it is the original one I use. I guess since I know everything about it and work with it each day. It is the ideal choice for me. I mean the N97 was an alright handset but the whole user experience was not that great as I get with my work Iphone. So I know its a lot of money but its going to be worth it. I just love the way everything just work's so smoothly with the Iphone.

I will be getting this handset from the Apple store, however also thinking of getting a personal shopper experience at the Apple store when buying this handset. For those who have had that experience, how did it go. I will be looking forward to sharing my experiences with this handset, moving from the original edge handset to a fully great turbo charged 3gs handset

I got my 3gs on release day using the shopping experience. as the time is pre booked I just walzed past the waiting queues and straight to the salesman

I've not bought anything else in an Apple shop so its hard to compare with the normal experience, but its just nice to be greeted by name and the time taken to show you want you want to see while seated at a table

hello everybody!
I am loving my iphone so far (in spite of lack of multifunctions, radio not using the wifi, and having to use cydia to find a way to watch flash videos in streamline)
I already have that pink incipio case but I would like to change it.
I have been looking at this
http://ifrogz.com/products.ph[....]rap_overlay=4504|IP3GSoftTouch
http://www.iskin.com/solo/features_fit.html
http://www.more-thing.com/diamond-series-for-iphone-3g-3gs.html
any suggestions?
I do no twnat to add buldge, but protection.
Thanks!

@Ros-Mari,

Your first choice, iFrogz, avoid. That style case (2-piece) have been known (from other manufacturers) to scratch your iPhone from removal to insertion. However should you prefer it then use a full body sheild on the 3GS before using it. The others, iSkin solo and that More Diamond series ... girl you got class! I'm impressed. Both seem that it'll do fine to protect your 3GS. I'm using a similar from Speck but is a hard candyshell like with rubber on the inside to protect against impacts. my Speck comes around the front on the edges like a lip so that when I have my 3GS face down; the screen doesn't touch the table/desk. Those last two cases you mentioned look like they do the same. IF you can, see them in person to see if they'll protect better than a simple silicone. Check out MacForums.com as there is a HUGE thread with many users there stating their opinions and experiences of various cases; it might help.

Has anyone tried the new Real Racing GTi game?! ITs AMAZING!

Got the Jamie Oliver app. Itīs very impressive (visually), and useful.

@Masseur, advice from jb veteran: stay away from Icy and RYP. Use only Cydia.

Regarding the jailbreak scene, i have to say apps are getting super impressive lately

I recommend the Switch Easy Capsule Rebel. Or Contour Showcase. I am using the Capsule Rebel and it is an awesome case. I can face it down on a table as the lip protects the the entire front. Checkout some reviews on Youtube. itsmemorpheous on youtube has some great reviews.
