Man, some of you are an insatiable and picky lot. Dude how often are you planning on rebooting your Xperia anyway - to "enjoy" the boot up screen?! Personally I'd rather be USING the Xperia to its fullest than to even care or notice what the boot up screen is!! Heck unless it flashes a hot women with bouncing breasts or spread eagle & singing any nations national anthem, I could care less if it even flipped me the bird!

Eh, don't try and put me in a bracket. I'm not picky at all, I love the UXP look of the S, if you'll notice this is my first criticism of the phone. Yes it may not be the make or brake feature but for people, but imo I find the one they have is just boring, from Sony I'd expect something better. There is something nice about turning it on and having a cool animation and I think the one Sony went for was just last minute. Its not being picky its just my bloody opinion!

rog, or anyone that has the phone, in the stuff.tv review it makes note of a "slight rattling plastic back cover" is this much of an issue, does it make the phone feel less premium?

cheers

Lets not become "Apple fanboys" and start yelling "HANG HIM" after every so slight sign of criticism, please...
Its much better and fun to have a discussion!

It looks at the moment as if this phone will be out anytime between the 5th to the 13th March 2012. I'm hoping it will be out before the 13th as i am finding it hard waiting for it to be released.

+1000!
People here are a 1000 times more picky than all the reviewers out there. People here whining about no improvement over Arc image quality when the actual people who took those pics are saying that Xperia S is superior to Iphone 4S and Arc S.
And I don't understand why everyone here expects zero noise at 100% crop from a PHONE camera!. Even basic point and shoot cameras have almost similar amount of noise as Xperia S shots at 100% crop.

Can everyone just stop whining and be happy that the last Sony Ericsson flagship is finally what we have been wishing for since years. The Xperia S is currently and will remain till the end of Q1 at least, simply the best smartphone there is. And the stuff.tv review says the same thing. Currently, Xperia S is in a class of its own.

Lol i guess we should all follow what Stuff.tv? Until the final units have made the rounds to all the large review sites and we have some user opinions here who have bought it the jury is still out.

I agree about the 100% crop pics point, even the N8's pics taken with its large sensor and other incredible Camera hardware have noise at 100% crop.

Yes... until quadcore's come along in a couple months time. It was the same last year, the arc came out quickly and was the best android device...for about a couple of weeks. Even Sony will be releasing a quadcore device later in the year, so will replace this device as the flagship

Well not really.
Double core are still not the standard, and they still don't really offer that much of a change.
I wouldn't get crazy about it.

Other than the Camera, display res and design, its no better than say a Galaxy SII which was launched a whole year ago, yet still has faster HSPA+, A microSD slot, Better camera results, more powerful CPU/GPU despite being clocked down to 1.2GHz, superior display tech, better tailored UI for hardware allowing HD1080P in web browser and possibly faster performance (waiting to see some full on reviews on it, but the mere fact that it uses a Snapdragon CPU makes me believe performance wont be upto mark with GS2).

The more i look into this Xperia S the less excited i am, HTC and Samsung are going to bring some seriously powerful and finely tuned devices this year, Sony better bring their A-game with this, its just not convincing me right now.
