happy new year to all.

anybody notice the backlight of the screen goes to full brightness for a second then dims to sleep? It happens sometimes and i haven't figured out the exact reason yet. just wondering.

i've also noticed some lag sometimes which is kind if disappointing. i use about 2.5gb of the 3gb ram almost constantly. not sure if it's just the apps i have running or what. what are all of you running at?

look forward to the next update though. hopefully there will be some interesting new features.

Also upgraded.
No problems, battery great, almost no consumption on idle.
I guess it depends on background processes.
I always control them.

The battery is great but the charging time is nothing short but disgustingly slow. To get fully charged takes about three hours or so with a non-quick charger.

i had such bad lag last night that i had to restart my phone. after the restart, everything seems smooth as butter though. wonder what it was? I also got an update last night that brought my firmware to build # 39.2.A.0.374. I think some of you already got this.

Charging does take a long time with non-quick charger but mostly due to the fact that at 90% it slows down considerably to preserve the overall lifespan of the battery. Even with the quick charger it will do this unless you disable the smart charge feature. Definitely worth investing in a quick charger though. i can get back to 100% from 15% in under an hour (haven't really tracked it to know exactly how long)

I have a quick charger but didn't track the loading times either.

So why is it this doesn't charge faster with a Quick Charger 3.0 bundled with my Galaxy S7?
It says the Xperia XZ supports Quick Charge 3.0 as well.

::UPDATE::

I was absolutely sure the Galaxy S7 supported Quick Charge 3.0 but it appears to only be 2.0 so that's why.
I guess there is no backwards compatibility with 2.0 charger.

McKinley - Qualcomm QC is backwards compatible. So using a QC 2.0 charger will work but only at QC 2.0 levels. it should definitely work. and yes you are correct. galaxy S7 is only QC 2.0 certified. if it is not charging your XZ faster than the bundled adapter, then something is definitely amiss!

I have a QC 3.0 aukey charger and it charges much faster than the bundled charger in the box. I will try to time it at some point this weekend. XZ has that smart charge feature though.

if it is turned on, it will take longer to reach 100% as it will slow down in the mid-80s and even slower at 90%.. only reaching 100% at a time it predicts you will need it based on your historical charging habits. You can usually turn this off from the notification bar though.
