- Supports 2K video imaging (2048 x 1080 16000 frames/s)

Is this not very high?

Would anybody like to explain what is "active pixel color sampling"?

@Goldenface it basically records 2k and 4k footage at a ridiculously high frame rate.

I very highly doubt Sony would jump from 1/2.3", 20.7MP to a 1.5" sensor with only 4MP. Plus that 16000 frame rate (image I think, 4K video with 240 fps) would fry a smartphone, not to mention the higher voltage values. Also, the spec sheet looks fake. That looks more like it's for industrial use.

The removal of the magnetic charging pins is interesting...

the main idea behind it was to quickly connect the phone to the charger, and also a way to securely docking the phone..

now if these rumours are correct regarding getting rid of the usb port flap, then no need for it... and the easiness will move to the Qi charger...

the two problems I find are
1- Qi chargers are more expensive than magnetic cable/dock.
2- The feeling of those who invested ??$ in magnetic cables/docks. but nothing is there about Qi or magnetic for the tablet.

the rest of rumoured spec. are good in case they're true...

the only thing missing is that they mentioned microUSB port, I hoped for Type C

Recend rumors said sony is removing the flaps. I hope this doesn't mean that they'll also get rid off the microsd slot. Removable back this time maybe?

^^^
I hope they will not abandon it like the Xperia S...

So I think it's now time to start the 2015, we're only a little over 1.5 months away any way, and the rumours now are only but 2015 devices, not to mention that Z4 series rumours are starting to mature now...

Getting rid of the USB flap does not mean getting rid of all the other flaps as well.

If they want to get rid of the SIM card and microSD flap they can either put both of them under one flap and there would be only one left or go the way of the removable back cover. Unfortunately, a removable back cover does not mean a removable battery as well, which is silly. If you make it removable, why not offer the option the exchange the battery as well?!

Besides, Sony already did this with the Xperia V and Xperia ZR, both are waterproof and have a removable back cover with access to SIM card, microSD and the battery can be easily replaced. They only have two flaps - USB and headset (back then an open headset jack wasn't possible). Samsung does it as well with the S4 Active, S5, S5 mini.

However, both phones were still designed when it was SE (as you can see in the design language and the magnet connectors being used) and I assume SE was more open to make the phones more easily servicable by the user and thus prolong there battery life and overall device life..

Sony however is embracing planned obsolescence (-> sell more phones sooner because they are intentionally made to break earlier, see sealed battery) as it seems and you can't change the battery anymore with current waterproof phones.

So if the battery is broken like with my Z1 after only 14 months, you have the "pleasure" to send it in under warranty repair and wait 14 days instead of buying a new battery for 10€ and swapping it within 1 minute...

Or you could throw it away when the battery is broken again and the warranty is over.

Sorry for the rant. I'm currently facing this issue with my Z1 and I'm furious about it!

Just forked out for Z3 Dual after losing hope on an Ultra.

I guess my wife will be getting a really nice second hand dual SIM handset in March/April.
