For those who pay for data usage (gprs and edge) virgin charges 50c/mb from the first megabyte... now thats like 4 times cheaper than any of the others.. i can smell a price war looming

I say bring it on...but then again I'm very sceptical of this offer because something tells me the sites you visit might be restricted to save on bandwidth. So yeah, 50c/MB If I'm only using wap might be cool but it would be useless if you're downloading from proper websites. I hope Virgin proves me wrong, I've just been very sceptical about this deal.

true, so what i am gonna do is get a sim and few bucks credit and test it out.... 50c/MB IF we are not limited is quite decent, it will even be okay for surfing web if u use it wisely and not download things...

That's soooo damn cheap, even if there are certain limitations.
Hope it is a flat rate... and not some much more expensive rate at other times or after 'x'-amount of MB use or 'for a limited time only' etc.
Let us know the outcome of your Virgin sim/data cost findings, Rhino8.

Wish Virgin UK was as cheap...
Can't have it all, I guess.

I want to put some pictures up. If so, how where when why? Do I mail it to anyone? Got a few I wanna share=)

Quick question, can I upgrade my firmware at the Sony Ericsson shop at vodaworld? If so, is it quick? And because I haven't been there in years, do they even have Sony Ericsson shop there?

I rather pay R1 for a a much better and more stable GPRS, than to use Virgins cell c piggy back network!

depends on the network, as vodacom has been very shaky lately... i have been experiencing alot of downtime on voda lately... the main thing about the virgin deal is, that it may force voda and mtn to reduce their costs
