@amby: the INEC Sabotage conspiracy theory has been floating around for a few weeks now. it seems it has been a back up plan for sometime. INEC hasnt gotten its 2nd qtr funding yet and we are going into the 3rd qtr. if its true they will revamp INEC at the last minute (in December) and the new people will complain that april is not enough time to hold an election, what can we do? its not like 3rd term that we could complain (threaten) our senators and reps. its totally out of our hands short of mass demonstrations! then afterwards the election that is held late, it flops like the census with international observers giving tit a thumbs down and the rsults are nullified. what happens next? does OBJ step down to an interim govt? dont think so.

@Abu: Your theory on the INEC scenario is scary. But God isn't asleep.
Whats the 365days countdown for? 365days of light or blackouts? I have long concluded that PHCN is delibrately holding back on power, cos we've had rains for a while now, so our dams should be bursting with water, yet the situation hasn't improved.

@abu, the INEC theory would not sail through because for the first time in our history we ave concluded that we r not accepting tenure enlongation any it would b fought through and through. u would b surprised how we would not accept it in any form it comes

Abalaka was not sincere in his approach to the issue. Drug design & production has a scientific approach. properties of drugs have to be tested in animals before clinical trials in humans. And these trials are in phases. It must be proven to be safe before efficacy comes in. Even when it gets into the market there is postmarket surveillance. You can't say you have a drug without scientific backing

unless you are a native doctor. Not that native doctors don't have their merits anyway. I want to point out that he was advised by Hon. Oviagele, a prominent pharmacist, legal practitioner and politician to go the way of native doctors. Come to think of it this way. Why not give it to the world for free if you have a drug that can cure/treat HIV/AIDS. you would be doing the WORLD some good.

@ambyz: 365 days till a new prez!!!! its 9pm and we still have power. its a bit scary. feel like once it goes we wont get light till 2010.

@area: your really an optimist. lets see what happens now. remember, 3rd term was a bid at getting term extension legally. now the chips are down and the gloves have come off, things are now gonna get dirty. its hard for the masses to retaliate even in a quasi-legal manner.

@pxth: if i had the cure i wouldnt dash it out!!! (dont look at me like that!!!!) i'd make sure its cheap but if its goin to be free, someone is gonna pay me, be it a charity or NGO against AIDS. $100,000,000 is about enough. that'll be about $1 for every victim. (i think i will open up that lab in my backyard!!!!)

@ABU… Let me start by thanking you for the settings you gave earlier. I am using my pc now though it is expensive. I had to configure my system to browse without pictures.
Coming to the Abalaka issue, I am disturbed to know that you would not give out the patent for free if you have the cure for hiv/aids. Let me point out that a wise man would get more money by free gesture than selling. You will become a billionaire overnight. Gifts and donations of all sorts will come your way. How many politicians, sportsmen, musicians, actors etc are living with the virus? Man this dude is going to wipe our generation if we don’t do something now.
@ALL…is vmobile gprs nationwide? I need settings immediately before mtn go finish my money.

@mamba: the gods of gprs increased the dl speed to about12kb/s so i got the editor!!!!!

Next time it is that fast... try opening Yahoo mail too. When U said ur max was 4kb... I knew that ur Upload/Download speeds (at the bottom of the NetMeter graph) must have been 0.0.kb/s. At that "speed" nothing will work.

@All... Abalaka's problem was with the Nigerian Pharmaceutical Research Institute. They wanted to verify his claims... meaning having a peek at his trade secrets. Abalaka got the press coverages but the real Guy who made all the money was/is a Guy call Dr. Abdullahi of Winners Diagnostic Centre. His HIV drug costs 30k about three years ago.... and the place is always packed (with the big men coming at nights). I have more gist on the Guy...but.

By the way, I lost my junior Brother to AIDS in June 2005... so HIV/AIDS is always an interesting subject to me.
