@Coola: let me start with belated condolences to you. With all hopes this HIV wont harass our grand children.
When I was saying max dl speed I was giving the average figure on he bottom of the screen. The max at the side actually read 5.3 during large downloads.
And Abalaka made dough selling to big soldiers back in the day!!!!!!

@pxth: Im a hungry Nigerian!!!! I cannot wait for accolades and awards from the rich and prominent! Are you saying if everyone HIV+ had to pay $1 (or lets say $2 for price of manufacturing the drug) its is too much? It’s virtually free!!!!! How much do you pay for the more recent antimalaria treatment? N900 to N1400. And you say $1 profit is too much? If I produce it and sell it at cost of production I’ll be acclaimed as a heaven sent saint. If I sell it and make $1 off each cured person I’ll be acclaimed as a heaven sent saint that is now rich!!!!! Let the rich politicians, biz men, sports men etc donate so that the drug can become absolutely free to those not as well off. Its if I made lets say $1000 from every off every victim that you could say im greedy or that the drug is only catering to the rich. Let me get back to my make shift lab.

Vmobile’s gprs isn’t working in Maiduguri, and as we haven’t heard from our correspondent in Kaduna for some time I don’t think KD is up either.

With a speed of 5.3, Yahoo Mail should open.

Vmobile GPRS is very patchy. In Abuja, it works in Asokoro but not everywhere like Glo and MTN. It is annoying to get signals when I walk outside my house but not inside my house. Meanwhile, they will say they have GPRS in Abuja.

I thot GPRS was implemented from the BSC (Base Station Controllers) so that all the BTS's will just go live at the same time... but... our Nija networks are probably upgrading a subset of the BTS from 2G to 2.5G

@All I will be online at Yahoo Messenger all day today... my buds, take note.

Hi ALL, am just pissed off about this Vmb Gprs, not picking up at my location in Festac Town for the past two weeks, have been calling cc, they all know my name now, out of frustration i connected with MTN, just to check my yahoo mails, even with pictures disabled, N400 was swallowed after four pages. Do me a favour you all, call vmb (CC is free, and i believe everyone has a vmb line) pls ask them to switch back Festac Town. Thanks in advance.

@pxth: Forgive my tardiness in repling. What do I think about Aids? Where does one start? I just hope I don't catch it.

As to the adequacy or otherwise of government policy, I cannot give an informed opinion as I have not followed government or civil society's response.

@coola: i called someone at Abuja Mtel and he says they are getting 56+kb/s there, except on times of heavy voice traffic when it drops a bit. he also told me the speed shouldn't be a factor in the problem but alas i've done everythng I can think of. I'm even having problems getting opera to browse. I thot maybe if i use a different browser i'd get thru with yahoo. its a bit frustrating. yahoo and its messenger are the main reasons i go to the net.

@angel: no vex!!! at least u had it at a point!!! hop they wont be able to tell im calling from maiduguri!!!!

@egunj: your silence, i thot u don vex!!!! PHCN has increased our light from 4 hrs a day to about 15hrs. has everyones power supply increased or did they just finally have pity on us in m'guri? coola u dont need to respond since you're in the land of 24 hrs power.

@Angel: Kpele o, I had the same problem with MTN at a time, I had to keep swithching positions to get a signal. My guess is that some BTS's haven't been activated to provide GPRS.
@Pxthomas: Send an sms with the words wapgprs and phone make/model to 184 to receive Vmobile settings. I have used Vmobile gprs in Benin, but can't tell if it reaches Asaba and Warri.
@Abu: I guess someone from NEPA oops,...PHCN was reading my post, and decided to prove me wrong. For the first time in like 4 months, I have light in the evening, and its been on since morning except when it went off just before the storm this afternoon. There's hope still, yes?

Would you marry someone who was HIV positive?
Would you allow your Sis or Bro to marry someone who is positive?
Singles and Married, your responses please.

@Abu, I have finally decided to get an M-Tel line because of the speed you quoted.
