Two quick questions;

1) After I select an icon on the touch screen, it makes that 'click' noise and then about 5 seconds afterwards there is a pop noise in the background - does anyone else get this?

2) The 64Mb included memory pro duo stick is actually made by Sandisk and not sony? is this supposed to be the case?

Thanks
Sarge

Can the password manager be turned off? Can't find an option, unless I missed it somewhere.

Just ordered mine... Couldnt wait any longer!!!

Well, to be honest i couldnt pass up the deal! (through a mate)

£100 for the phone, and then £13 per month for 12 months...

so overall cost = £256!!!

Bloody superb!

Only thing missing is being able to insure it, but at that cost who cares!!!

Which network and where from!
Thats a great deal.

@PeterKay

O2 is the Network and its from LPL Telecom but its not a normal deal...

A mate put through two of these for me and a mate but had so much trouble getting it through O2 that in the end both had to be in my mates name as his was processed first...

Doesnt bother me as i only want the phone and not the line...

Im well haps at the price! Means i can buy a 4GB Duo, DS970, MFSO, and SMPro and anything else anyone can think of without being out of pocket in my mind!

@Paul Mclaren,

If you mean the device locks then it's tools-->control panel-->security-->locks
set both the phone lock and sim card lock to off.

Have to say the speaker sounds fine to me...

Maybe in comparison to prev P's and other handset its poor but without a direct test i couldnt say...

sounds alright in Production at the office and thats with a lot of empty space and a load of copy machines running?!

Woww...I've just finished reading most of 398 pages of this forum!!! Now I'm really in the mood
I've had my P990 for 10 days now, I'll soon post my experience with it.
A quick question: Few days ago I assigned a ring tone and a picture to a contact, this morning it had no picture and the default ringtone. Anyone had this problem? My phone is 06W39, came with the latest fw.

Being a current owner of a P900 and having passed "the History of P990i - 101", my overall impression of this baby is that it's a good device. Sure, there are problems but the problems seem to be software and user oriented, the hardware guys seem to have done their job adequately. Although my phone came with the latest fw out-of-the-box, I had a couple of crashes the first few days, but gradually they disappeared and now mostly it seems to work as it should. This makes me think that I was actually responsible for most of the crashes due to my ignorence of the device. Having used my P900 for about 3 years, I do have an issue with some of the software design.

1- The way the LED at the top right is used does not sit well with me, I would like to have the same functionality as in P900, namely regular blinking light for normal operation and quick blink for received messages and missed calls. Being in the mood to expect crashes, I frequently have to check to see if the phone is on!!
2- A blue LED to indicate activated BT and Wi-Fi would have been nice.
3- Exchanging the placement of the multimedia and back switches would be nice.
4- Maybe it's because I got so used to it but the T9 dictionary on the P900 is easier to use than the one on P990, I frequently fail to select the correct word on the P990, however it may be a matter of getting used to, we'll see.
5- I want my clock screensaver back!
6- With the P990 SE almost has the complete functionality of Advanced Call Manager, only if it could also have the ability to reject hidden callers. Just because of that I will be getting ACM 2.6.
7- On the main menu, I would like to organise the items alphabetically.
8- The menu for setting an alarm was much better on the P900

One of the features I really like is the recently used contacts list when sending an SMS, makes life so much easier.

In general, the overall build quality and the "feel" is very good.

With such a complicated piece of technology there are bound to be problems, we'll see in 6 months or so where we stand with the P990.

Oh, and I would like to have Agendus, Shoppin Bee and Handy Base for P990 as soon as possible
