but when u need something and u don't have it with u???
very often when i do somewhere i want to take a pick but i'm not having the MCA20 with me just because i thougth i whould't need it
i prefer the built in cameras!!!
and by the way this treat is to ask questions to some lucky guies who tested P800 -i'm gonna try it next week!!!!

That is the key. Nokias sell just because they are Nokia. You already are able to use it, everyone has it and therefore you can have messages with pictures and all that stuff. All your friends have it, so why have another one?
I am talking about the majority of people who own their phones just to call mum or dad or the wife or husband to tell them that they will be five minutes late...
And all the deals with carriers... Why doesn't SonyEricsson make a deal with a provider to start pushing their phones?
Also an answer to the guy who was so critical about SE. You are right. Unless SE only sells two models they will never be able to compete with Nokia! More models means more choice and more sales. Well I don't want SE to f**k people like Nokia does, by changing the backlight color of a phone and sell it as if it was a new model...
The situation is critical, but that is Sony's fault. The make movies, cameras, and Vaio notebooks. Question: how many Vaio have bluetooth built in? One! And how many cameras have bluetooth? Maybe two.
Sony knew they where joining venture with ericsson but dind't do any effort to insert it in a network of home electronics or something.
Give them time? They had a year now to do it, and in consumer electronics a year is an eternity... Seriously, with which Sony device will you be able to operate your P-800 easily and smoothly? NONE.
That could have been the source of advantage, the key to success. But Sony failed to bring its brand name to SonyEricsson.
In my opinion this is the main point.
But I might be wrong in attributing it to the majority of the forum (and apologize if so).

The models within a company affect the sales of each other. 8210 probably affected the sales of 3210 and 3310. I think I've said this before. This effect is "magnifiied" if the cheaper models share the design-language of the more exclusive models. If the "cheapest nokia" becomes common, the demand for the exclusive nokia increases. If an individual can not afford that exclusive model, he will go for the cheaper model.
While it is probably true that P800 will not be a high volume product it will not be a failure because it will always have the purpose of maintainging the image that SE can produce the best phone there is.
This is short but I'm probably drunk, and to faca and everybody else with hobby-market-analyst-ambitions: things are more c o m p l i c a t e d than you think I and you generelly don't have a clue.
While I can agree that the T300 is ugly, I'm sure faca can agree that both 3210 (not to mention 6250 or 6350) were all ugly, but that did not affect their success, did it?

Well I guess you are drunk. For you will not be so hasty in your judgment if youre sober. People here in esato seem knowledgable (that is, if ever Market Analysys is not inline with their professions) to share their thoughts.
By the way, market analysis is not exclusive to market analyst. Much like the way our economy, politics, science (even in physics) can be thought of as the sole agenda of economist, politicians and scientist alike.
Now, if your drunken point of view would persuade the majority then, this world would have been deprived of the opportunity to hear the music of the Beatles and the genius of Einstein to name a few. Because both are not educated and certifiable experts in their field, when they delighted and amazed us with their works.

And well. In addition, Einstein's theories, as long as they are MATHEMATICAL (or at least SCIENTIFIC), can be proved by proofs. Beatles made music which is an ART FORM. Faca, among other things, made statements about the success of a phone. I disputed him.
"I'm drunk. You're stupid. I can sober up" .. =)

Pardon me, but this I sense ...saying stupid to someone doesn't make that someone so. Rather its the other way around I guess.
On the other hand, P800 would have been perfect as my choice. Though almost complete it is ..to most, the lack of a light saber makes a jedi feeling sorry and sad. But even though, recommend it to our council, I should someday... having it first, I shall today. By HOOK OR BY FORCE!
