Just got my phone back from Sony Ericsson Malaysia with the latest firmware... R5a...

If you have a HBH-30 and would like to use it with the new firmware, fair enough, you can accept and make calls just as usual but when it comes to recording voice commands, be prepared for a HANG of a LIFETIME!

I have checked, double checked, triple checked and I am quite certain it is the fault with the new software. So if you have a HBH-30, stick with R4F and stay there till a new revision comes out...

Oh yeah.. before I forget, aside from that, the phone after an upgrade does small interesting things such as informing you that a connection has been made to your bluetooth headset the moment an incoming call or voice dial command is activated.

The menu on the overall seems a little faster and the alerts on the overall are much louder (Ringtones + SMS Alerts)

Sorry, for having so many posts but I am just one person who keeps yacking non-stop.

Back to the Bluetooth thing, I have discovered a way to counter the hanging problem when you try to record a voice command via bluetooth on the T68i with the R5a firmware.

- Menu > Connect > Bluetooth > Options > H-free Sound > Set to in phone
- Start recording your voice commands
- Notice that the voice commands are now being recorded via the phone and not the headset
- After all the recordings are done, go ahead and change the menu back from "In Phone" to "In Handsfree"
- Have tried it and the bluetooth now works flawlessly!

Can't wait for another upgrade!

Caff you have asked the question so many times now that i think you can safely assume that the themes and call access work at similar speed. I don't understand what the issue is here as they work adequately surely and how quick do you NEED to swap themes? This post was posted from a T68i

@caff: the wait time in switching themes depends on the size of theme you are switching to... the bigger the longer...

Is it me or is the screen saver displayed for slightly longer on the latest R5A020 upgrade?

And what about different ring signal for data and fax call ? It was possible to choose one on T68m but on T68i with R2E006 firmware it's impossible Also as alarm on event from calendar is used the signal as for SMS alert in T68i, instead ring tone of alarm-clock as on T68m Is this also solved ?

I have tryed all of the upgrades for the T68i and most of them have brought improvement.

However there is one thing SE keeps changing and that is SMS input.
In R2E006 the joystick function was changed. Now if it is pressed to the right after keying in a letter it is changed to the next one. Say I want to type double a I would type a and press the joystick and press 2 again for another a. This is not the case today. If I do this with the new SW pressing the joystick to the left will change the a to a b.

In the newest SW version the SMS input has been changed. If I key in a letter and press * to change the from upper case to lower case it will change the previous letter. This is the same thing as the old Ericsson phones did.

In my opinion the SMS input (in multitap) was far best in the first versions of the T68m software. What do you think?
