I had the same problem of downloading files on my jam and sometimes resulting in just text. usually i would stop the transfer but one day i let it finish and with a file explorer (total commander) i had a look at the location where cache is stored. the file was there! even thou i just had text in PIE. i just cut and paste elsewhere. this works for a variety of file types. hope this may help you.

http://www.clubimate.com... ..you can find all these "How to" answers on the support tab on the main menu of the home page... A ROM update is like a firmware update...there's an executable file which you can download from the clubimate website.... just run it on the pc and follow the steps in the update wizard.... pretty simple even for the least tech savvy
But pls be careful...lest you fry the ppc
.. A carelessly executed ROM update can turm the device into an expensive paperweight
