1) To stingjoel - All I did was follow the steps in this thread - it really was easy. i.e. Find customize.xml, highlight it and press F4 to edit. You're looking for this entire section:

Code:
<camera>
<suppress-camera-sound>false</suppress-camera-sound>
</camera>

In my case (EU_2) it is at the bottom of customize.xml - scroll down to the end of the file. I'm wondering, do you get a shutter noise when in silent mode? Maybe this setting is not part of you phones customisation.

2) QuickShare - I think it comes down to your region. Some regions don't have the camera sound enforced. So you probably have the above setting in you customisation.

3) MobileMatze - Thanks for the advice but, is your method 100% free?? The point of this new method of modding our phones is that it is free and that we can control what changes we want. If possible I'd rather find and modify the file/parameter that controls the operator logo.

4) One last point - I guess all should consider the risks they take with this software and should be aware that it may end up in their phone not being able to be updated by SEUS or even a dead phone. Also, I assuming any SEUS update will remove any changes we make - so document anything you want to repeat.

5) I played with a couple of W800's today on Far. At one stage both had some connectivity issues. If you get the errors where the phone is not seen or the FS wont read fully try turning off the phone and removing battery and try Far again. Always remember to turn phone off, press and hold C button before attaching USB cable - this is, of course, after getting Far ready to connect.

Hi,
did you make some changes to customize.xml or upload other cert to make it working?

I did it exactly as mb-new described it:

1. copy the whole content of "complete.rar" to the appropriate folder on the phone

2. changed customize.xml:

- cda-number
- cda-revision
- default-language to "de"

you can find the cda numbers on http://www.topsony.com (i used the "Generic Germany" ones)

Thats all. No master reset or something else

@mongoose3800:

Yes, the method is free, download the FW file, modify it and flash it with DaVince 13.7 (without finalization). DaVinci charges you only for finalization. Finalization can be done with the FAR method from mb-new (copy "content.rar" to the appropriate folder).

But you are right, the smoother method should be the modification of the parameter or the config files of the phone.

I expanded my sms memory using the steps that Mobile-Matze posted.
But after doing that,I noticed that all my messages in my inbox is now gone.
Is this normal?
Did I do something wrong?
I did all the steps perfectly.
And how do I know whether I've expanded my sms memory or not?
Thanks,guys.

just restore sms from you backup in fma/mpe/whatever that you didn't forget to do before operations

or just copy folders and files from /smsdata to /tpa

you have to manually copy each of the directory in /smsdata (one by one) to local hard drive (keep the original path) and the copy it to /tpa (also one folder by one). Recursive copying moving is not supported yet (AFAIK)
