Arguably most members have joined because they are interested in SE handsets first and foremost, not because they are interested in other brands.
If we have a Nokia forum then there is no reason for us not to have a Samsung forum or a Motorola forum or a BenQ Siemens forum, etc. Once we are at that stage Esato is no longer a SE forum, it is a general mobile forum.
This forum has been been built upon a common interest in Ericsson and then Sony Ericsson handsets, not a common interest in Nokia handsets.
There is the capacity to discuss non-SE brands already. The only reason to add a Nokia forum would be if Esato were to be fundamentally changed, from being a SE forum to being a forum dealing with all brands.

I thik NO MATTER what fone brand THREADS they will be creating here . . .

Discussion Threads will still top the LIST with most respondents/replies . . . but hey . . . I made notice that the 'oldies' of Esato are making a slight SHIFT from

handhelds to other brands . . .

The point is, its a lot more work. What if Esato does accommodate Nokia users. As well as the Sony Ericsson section you would also have to have a Nokia:
Accessories
General
GPRS, WAP. MMS
etc, etc
Also, what about the front page news.
That would be a full time job in itself. Posting everytime something about Nokia came into the news would treble the workload.
Apart from the news section, what else will Nokia users get from Esato that they can't already get.

Not to mention extra moderation, bandwidth, flame wars, and a loss of the identity on which this site was built.

Its a non-issue to be honest, we've got an "other manufacturers" section
