Someone in my office just pointed out that I should show also the speed on Wifi so here it is. It holds steady at just over 2000 Kbps which is about right as my line is a 2meg one.

@cam1701 - What is the build quality like on the device? Does it "feel" nice with high quality materials?

How well does the device work as a phone? What is the signal strength and call quality like?

Have you experienced any of the problems reported by a couple of people at Modaco and the XDA-Developers forum with the TS alignment?

What is the battery lide like?

Would you say you are happy with this an a potential alternative to the P990i?

So many questions....

I was just on Tottenham Court Road... No P990's but plenty of TyTN

while there I got a better offer on the phone so didn't buy... they wanted £520 anyway and none would take Amex which is my preferred payment method (lots of air miles!)

So, mine will be coming soon. The jog dial is very soft compared to M600 and has a very nice feel to it.

by default though... its very green! (theme I mean)

@masseur - So you you getting the TyTN instead of the P990i or are you also going to get the P990i.
How did the TyTN feel in the hand? Whats the build quality like?

@SL33PYH34D

OK let me try to answer some.

1) Build quality is very good. Its feels like high quality grey plastic with some metal on the face. Not a nice a material as the K800 but not bad. I have pushed and pressed the panels and no sqeaking.
2) Have to say that I do not use it for voice calls mainly just data. I have however tried and it see good. Speaker still quiet as before.
3) Have been using the phone for web and email and have had no touch screen problems at all.
4) Battery life is still under test. But so far its been 24 hours with me running speed tests picking up emails so I would say about 1 hour usage and battery stands at 60%. Voice may drian it more so will try few calls later.
5) For me its all about data connection speed and 1.3meg just blows the P990 away.

ordered both. TyTN arriving tomorrow, P990 arrivin late this week/early next

so I'll be able to make a judgement for myself.

Initially it felt quite light in my hand compared to what I rememebred of the k-jam but the guy gave me a qtek version of the k-jam to compare and its much the same.

looking forward to check 'em out!

This is the conclusion I think I have come to aswell. The only way for me to really decide is to be able to compare both devices side by side.

Thanks!

I got my P990 now and just waits for some VoIP...
The wifi works perfect... no dropout during a 5-6 hour connection to my WiFi-router.

@SL33PYH34D, I can say that my initial impression reminded totally of the k-jam. I didn't get to do much excetp scroll through the menus and play with the jog dial but that jog dial definitly is what was missing from the k-jam

the unit feels very smooth but they keys on the keyboard look closer together than on the k-jam so I'll be testing that out first

anyway, shipping confirmation received so I'll be getting it when I get home tomorrow afternoon with P990 estimated now for Friday delivery and if that comes true, a busy weekend ahead trying all the features of both so I can finally figure out what I want

@masseur - I'd be really interested to hear your comparisions on both devices, although I may end up having both devices myself by Monday anyway...

Is the TyTN something you think you could live with as a daily phone (although I guess the answer may be since with you being a former KJam user)?
