My problem is that i get it to the downloading stage but then it encounters an error and asks me to start the process again.

This happens after the downloading process has been on for various lengths of time. Last night it was downloading for about 20 mins and then it did the same again. I have triedturning off firewalls etc..Help anyone?

@jah: but your phone still works?

My P990 did not work after the first false upgrade, it just flashed the screen on/off then after I deleted the firmware files from my laptop I tried again and the whole process went okay and the P990 is restored. A little speedier than before and Opera seems only to need 6mb as opposed to 10mb as before.

Foof, that must have been scary man. Can you try agile messenger to see if you also get the user error?

I still can't update, the update downloads the software, flashes to the update screen and then always goes back to the start.

I have no issues syncing and nothing in the firewall log so I have to assume there isn't anything there. Tried without the memory stick and deleting files in the blob directory, but that makes no difference.

What does the pressing c do? Maybe I am doing something wrong there. I haven't formatted my c drive yet, does that really help?

Help!

More bugs now with the update:
1. The text is bold in the task manager (please, who is the dumb sm*ck that told SE to change that?)
2. If you click on the esato mobile rss link with the old fw, the rrs feed is added to the rss reader automatically, now, it just won't (why????)
3. I get this network problem message when broswing with opera sometimes, wifi just disconnects on me, how retarded is that? (again, why???)
4. Opera tells me the site can't be found right after the wifi conection has been made (it is conected), have to wait 5 secs and refresh.
5. Multiple tries are needed to connect to wifi sometimes.

SE fixes the most important bug from the first fw version, and they give me 5 new ones WTF???

Joel, please confirm this for me

@johnex

Reading this some would be better off staying with the old software if that is stable. How do you feel about this?

The old firmware's problems were memory issues (fixed now) and opera's loading time (fixed now). The issues of the new firmware are above. If you use wifi allot (like me) and rss then you might want to stick to the old problems.
