Anyone know if the 80GB one is the same size as the 60GB, as in the thickness?

thats an incredibly clever marketing plan. make the coulorful ones 80 dollar more so that when christmas comes around kiddies will want the pink or the green one. i must say i would like a tiny version of my current ipod mini green.

Well guys n girls, I gotta say, I was fairly happy witht he presentation...
I like the new iPod mini nano's lol, they're very cool, but personally, i think the original nano's design is nicer, the black nano looks hot...
However, I'm not entirely sure about the choice of colours you're limited to... Given time though, I'm sure Apple will change this, they just need something to make sure all the little kiddies want it for xmas, then they'll probably spread the colours to the other sizes...
The iPod shuffle is brilliant, the size is just gobsmacking! I laughed when Steve pulled it out of his pocket! Although I'll proabably not buy one, it's definatly worth a look, purely for the ease of use, etc. A great addition!
The iPod itself is most disappointing, for the most part it's exactly the same as the current 5G iPod except with an improved battery, screen and software... But as many of you will have noticed, there was a release of iPod software 1.2, this gave iPod the ability to play the downloaded games, gapless playback (finally!!!) and the abilitly to do a fast scroll with the letter appearing on the screen. Besides that, the new iPod has got the new search function, but I don't really neeed that...
Overall, it means that my 5G iPod is technically gonna be even longer now, as it hasn't been truly updated, so for once, I don't feel cheated by Apple! lol
Who knows when we'll see the 'true' video iPod, maybe it'll be an addition to the iPod family rather than the replacement.... But by Macworld in January, I would expect to know something...
iTV, well I'm guessing nobody told Apple ITV was a TV channel in the UK! lol Hoping the real name will be much more catchier! lol I love the idea of this product, to have all your media on your computer without having to burn millions of discs of downloaded films, etc, just a live stream to your TV, what a great idea! I'm really looking forward to this one, although I proabaly need to upgrade my 14'' TV first lol
Overall, not a bad annoucement, but also quite disappointing, especially, if like me, you were waiting for thhe Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro's... But before you discount it all completely, just bear in mind, there are rumours for the MBP update for the end of sept... There have been reports of ordering massive stocks of C2D processors to Apple's factories which produce the Macbook and MBP....
Sorry if this was abit too long, but I thought I'd express my general view! lol
Cheers
PS the iPhone driver above is a mystery, it could be for the rumored iPhone, or just those crappy Motorola phones with iTunes on them...

I Wanna iPhone
David Galbraith (via Om Malik) wants an iPhone from Apple for these very good reasons:
1. All cellphone OS's suck.
2. Most non PDA cellphone hardware design seems to have stayed the same, apart from the addition of a camera lens, for the last 2 years.
3. Unlike computers, for most people, cellphones are a luxury device where good hardware design is a premium.
4. Apple proved that people would pay for their software and hardware design value-add, in a luxury market, with the iPod.
5. Cellphones & MP3 players make sense and may converge, making a hedge against this a good move for the iPod.
6. The market for cellphone hardware is big but the incumbents are stumbling.
7. Even buying ringtones on cellphones is a $3 billion market (much bigger than the current music download market).
8. The form factor of the iPod mini is the same as a phone, and Apple pretty well invented the PDA (but just got the form factor wrong with the Newton).
9. Apple is particularly good at media apps. Wireless cellular iTunes, iCal and iPhoto would be very nice, thank you.
I couldn't agree more and I've still had no takers for my $100 bet that we'll see one within 14 months now.
And in case you missed it first time, the
www.iphone.org points to...... the Apple website.
If Apple were to go into mobiles, it could be a real chance for them to triumph over their old rivals, Microsoft, who are going a good impression of bumbling about in the mobile space right now.
Here's some prototype designs I can exclusively reveal:

enjoy
