I have orange software and it is very stable (surprisingly). Just the low earpiece volume like i said before. Im not upgrading mx 3w until they fix that. Very happy with phone. Mtch better than my t68m/i and t610.

Hi, I have just bought an Orange branded W850. Trying to unbrand it using Wotan.
Has anybody used it:
- does the W850 need to be shutdown or started?
- is the DCU-60 CABLE , the USB cable shipped with the W850 or is it another one?
- does the phone need to be unblocked before the operation?
As you have maybe already guessed, it's not working, the Wotan software doesn't see the phone.
Thank you for your help!

One thing that I noticed is that the vibration alert not always work as intended, sometimes vibrates 2 o 3 times, others just 1 and other it does not vibrate at all...
...the other annoying thing is the slow UI and responsiveness of the phone!!!

I spoke to soon. My missed calls list does not have any. When I have a missed call it shows missed on the screen. When I select to view it, nothing! No big deal as I know it will probably be the Mrs. Anyone else on orange have this prob?

Yes I have had that too.
Delete all of your missed calls (even if the list is empty). The next time you have a missed call it will then display correctly.

I just got myself a 4GB Sandisk card. Everything seems to work ok, I can take pictures, play music, videos, save files from VideoDJ, MusicDJ etc.
However, the problem comes with Java software (games and apps.) They install fine, and start up fine. BUT they can't seem to save any data. One app would say that there is no space even though my memory stick has nothing on it. Games do not seem to save anything either. Worldmate would download information but not store them.. GRRR.
I've tried formatting it using Windows and the phone, but nothing seems to fix the problem.
Any ideas?

Works fine if I stored them on the phone.. but I've only got 11MB worth of space left on it... Hate to see it shrink any smaller.
Anyway, does the same thing happen on your 4gb card? Weird that it would install properly but can't write data to the card... -.- Also it works fine with the 1gb card, why not the 4gb? FAT32 perhaps? Ah, perplexing.
One other thing.. I just noticed that some of my albums don't play their songs in the correct track list order. And it's quite random. I would take my card out and put it back in and the album would be in a different order. I use Disc2Phone to transfer songs, so all of my songs have file names which are in order e.g. 01 this song, 02 that song, etc. Any idea how I can sort the songs in my albums in the correct order?

Try using SEUS to update first. Even though it will tell you that you have the latest update it will prove that your drivers are installed correctly. If SEUS fails too reinstall the drivers.
For those with the menu items showing up as hex assignments, this is also widely reported in R1ED001 for K800i. I believe the newer firmwares on Wotan etc fix the problem so I suspect SE have a fix ready for release with the next firmware update.
For the first post, i have a Vodafone UK W850i and the CDA is: CDA102677/51
