1.) As mentioned by several others, numbers would show for a split second when entering PIN numbers before turning into asterisks (*).

I do not consider this a bug, in fact it is a feature I like, it verifies that I have typed in the correct digits. It's not like you are typing on a big screen open to public view.

I do agree, especially now that my touchscreen has become a bit flaky after the firmware update. The feedback allows me to see that I got the right digits when in flipless mode.

Well, one should know after a while ones own PIN and not need this crappy delay before the asterix comes up! If it would be like a few now state, that its not public and nothing to worry, why not have it stay in numbers anyways? Its not public and after your input you press enter anyways.
Its just not right to have it delayed that long now. And since it wasn't that long before R9, this is a bad thing in R9!

delayed is not right. From my p900 and the last firmware of p990i(R3) the security code was fast but after updating it damn its so slow before changing to a asterisk.

I dont believe it ,restoring backed up data from an old FW??!!it's completely wrong!guys just back up CONTACTS.and for those who claimes for camera flash:every mobile has a camera with flash, the flash is made only for 1-1,5 meters max distance.not for longer!so its not a bug please dont post about it any more..and to active light for video just press and hold the capture botton half way and then move the jog dial to the left..revers the steps to turn it off.

Good tip. I'll just add that you need to be in picture mode first, press capture button half way, turn jog dial left, then switch to video mode. The light will remain on.

It's not a matter of knowing the PIN! When you use the stylus to enter the digits it's more likely that you can make a mistake, so I still think the 1 sec. delay is appropriate.

this should be sticky...it explains why some have problems with latest fw that others dont have. not restoring old backups and a master reset or internal drive format is absolutely essencial, specially for people that experience more problems than normal...i might do a thread about this at my-symbian too to see if people work their problems

At leat on my phone, the ENTIRE screen is filled with a keypad with buttons so big you can use your finger to press them. Hardly an issue to 'miss' the correct button/number with the little stylus
