oh, sorry, I though it said r5b there but as you say its only r5a

I don't use language packs so I have no idea if R5A will work but this is where you get them from so if it doesn't work then unfortunately you'll have to just monitor the page for updates

I had a similar concern, and language pack worked OK. My suspicion is r5a was latest when that notice was inserted, so interpretation should be "r5a or later". Just thoughtless wording.

Thanks, but I just reflashed the phone through seus and didnt restore my settings and apps. Now I have all the languages back but I have to reconfigure and reinstall everything. NOT so cool. I really hope that se would come up with decent/working back up tool. With that thing you dont even want to upgrade!
Did anybody hear about the update service pro? Olbo at my-symbian found a new service. But I think you can only sign up as a retailer or a service point...?http://www.sonyericsson.com/retailsupport/Mainindex.aspx?locale=gb-en
Would be cool if theres a way for a regular customer...

i bought this phone coz of the looks, but after getting the firmware updated, my mobile restarts twice or thrice a day. and infact the problem arises when i do not come to know if it has restarted. due to this i miss so many important calls.

as in the startup it ask to select Flight Mode or Normal Mode.

and you need to select this to get the phone started.

this is big hassle. however now i have un-checked the prompt icon when restarting in the flight mode option in Control Panel.
