It does come with an instruction manual right? I have an E-61 and am getting a N95 and I am sure the themes can be deleted via the app manager or via the PC to phone connection.
Indeed, most themes can be deleted anyway - the other... you just have to check a bit! But still: what a BIG reason to call a phone Trash!!

oh, heck, here (AND THERE'S MORE, FOR THE DIFFICULT ONES...YOU can delete THEM ALL, JUST AS i CAN DELETE THEM ALL FROM E61/N91...BUT YOU HAVE TO TRY!!!):

Well I'm trying out an N73. I intended to compare it side-by-side with my SE K790i, but unfortunately the SE is getting the EPROM error "Operation Failed", so I have to reflash it first. My N73 should be arriving in a couple of days and I'll just see what all the hoopla is about.
