To Max wedge. I aint going to turn this into a slanging match but just to point out EVERY SINGLE SONYERICSSON MOBILE PHONE I HAVE EVER OWNED HAS BEEN A LEMON. I have owned over ten of their models and all of them always seem to never work properly and its cost me alot of money trying to get out of past contracts not wanting to stick with them anymore. I have owned several Samsungs and Nokias and not one has ever had a fault. My Nokia 6233 i have had for over 6 months now and its never had one single problem. I think SonyEricsson need to start testing their software properly before launching phones as they are to me selling faulty phones to the public. Thats my view. I am not saying Nokia phones are always fault free but from experience and the fact that every single phone from SE has been faulty is to me not good. I rest my case.

@seanyb
thats fine to express your opinion. its just some keep repeating them selves in the one thread. you only need to say it once so people know you dont like them. It aggravates (spelling?) some people when you repeat it over and over... we should ignore the ''''harsh bashing'''' of companies, that way arguements dont start as no one is replying to them....

Yes it does get a little silly i guess. I wont be posting no more rants about phones i get sick of it too but i stick by what i think. I think this is a great site with good information news downloads and forums i guess it just gets a little heated sometimes.

it's been a pleasure to be a member of esato, i can express all my feelings without so many objections and groans regarding my post anyway i was a Gsmarena poster before but seeing that site to be nearly totally infested by nokia fanboys, i was somewhat overwhelmed by those ridiculous and Rude opinions against SE, Moto or Samsung.

Seanyb2, I am very sorry to have jumped to conclusions, I see now why you think you have a reason to believe SE are crap. But I also have owned many SE phones and not a single one has had any problem whatsoever. So what do we do when such a thing occurs? In my view, I have been lucky and you have been unlucky. That cancels us both out and leaves SE no better or worse than any other OEM.

So experience is a funny thing, but we can never take our own personal experience as being a statistical proof, since many other people could have had a completely different set of experiences.

And this gets to the root of one of my frustrations with people "abusing" SE: that they think it's okay to take their frustrations out on forums by making it a mission to slam SE whenever they can, when they have no real evidence other than their own experience. If I was to do the same thing I would slam the N70, since the one I own is a buggy piece of shite, yet other N70 owners swear by them. So when I hear other N70 owners stick up for the N70 I realise that my experience with N70 is not necessarily indicative of N70 overall. I got a lemon, that's all (even after updating to the latest firmware it's still bug ridden)

I've never had an SE lemon, despite having owned 3 K750's, a T610, T100, and a K700. A close friend had a P800 for years, he swore by it. Another friend has a K610 which I fixed after being run over (screen only broken - everything else perfect working order), another friend has a Z610, no problems, another has an S700i, it's mike just died after 3 years of abuse (he doesn't look after phones - this thing has so many scratches there is no paint left on it), otherwise it's in perfect working order. Several friends have had T610's all comment on how durable they are. My sister a K700 that she swore by (died after she dropped it unnoticed in the loo and picked it out 2 days later), she now has K800 and hasn't had any of the problems others claim of the K800. Another friend swore by his K750, though the joystick went funny, but he does that to all phones he has with joysticks - he is particularly rough with joysticks and so are his kids who play the games often (my K750 joystick still works perfectly after 3 years of use).

I'm racking my brains, but I simply can't think if any instances of people who I know who have had bad experiences with SE other than my friends K750 joystick problem.

So as you can see MY experience leads me to have a lot of confidence in SE.

Hmm... I wonder
Is there any chance of organized group formed secretly by nokia (or maybe their employee), with mission to bring down the image of another manufacturer (ie. Se, samsung, moto) ?

Hello again Max Wedge. Anyway well thats good we both see each others points now. I used to get frustrated cos when i had a SE i never had a pc to update software and the over the air thing never worked i always had to return to shop. Thinking back you know the most and probably the only reliable SE i had strangely was the S700i i did love that phone when it came out. But i do notice that its the Smartphones that tend to be buggy more so than normal phones. I think now people really should stop ranting and help each other solve problems. Thats better.

Seanby2, I think that's a good point about smartphones. It is more the UIQ3 devices SE have had the problems with lately. I see this as a teething problem more than anything.

Nevertheless it would certainly be frustrating to anyone who bought a P990 early on. Even the M600 was poor at the start. Interestingly I haven't heard much bad about the W950 though?

The only issue that came very anoying so far according to my experience about SE's non-smartphone line was the imlementation of joystick, but i'm quite impressed that i can hardly see K800 users experiencing troubles like the ones in K750 and earlier models. but Smartphones proved to be very annoying to most of the novices, most of the time requiring them to update if software problems are encountered i think all smartphone manufacturers(esp. Nokia and SE) should focus more on the stability of the OS software before releasing it into market in order not to deteriorate it's image in the eyes of it's novice users(by which they have the greatest number).

What is odd is why do so many SE and Nokia phones have problems when i never hear of many problems from Samsung for instance. How come they seem to get it right most of the time when the even bigger players dont. Is it pressure to release new phones and they come out too quick. Its crazy i heard that a firm in America years ago took Nokia to court over as so many of their phones were faulty that it affected their business. So they should have learnt by now all the big players to text software before releasing. Ah well thats life.
