Well... Sofia/K850 is meant to be a one-handed UIQ device (like the Moto Z8) so is actually the first of many non-touchscreen Smartphones SE is likely to produce, making it a milestone for future models. That way SE can flood the market with similar devices as Nokia did with the early S60 devices.
Having defected to Nokia (I own an N80) last year after owning and using several SE phones, I was both surprised and disappointed with Nokia's N80. The N95 shares the N80's battery problem and suspiciously sub-par camera. Take it from me, the N80's 3MP is inferior to SE's 2MP k750i and even my old S700i's 1.3MP produced better results. I was totally blown away by the N80's browser, which is the best on any mobile device.
Basically... Nokia's N series is getting a bit too feature-heavy (Hard drive in N91? Weird folding N90/N93? GPS afterthought in N95?) for its own good. SE are slimming down with the P1i, which should be considered a smarter phone than the N95, as it has a full QWERTY keypad and touchscreen.
Average phone users don't really use the all the power of S60, so most of these are just huge wastes of space, and the speed lag on many S60 devices is unacceptable. Few exceptions include the 7610, N76 and E65.
Me? I am waiting for P1i. The N80 was great, but N95 is more of the same, with even more battery draining features. Both the K850 and P1i will be better phones if they did less than what both the N80 and N95 tried to do, which is pretty much everything.
Here's to SE's new generation of S60-busting smartphones (that might not have touchscreens). Hopefully these phones will be properly targetted into Walkman, Cybershot, Blackberry Killer, and maybe even PlayStation phones that consumers will understand better than E and N series.

Err... dunno what everyone's been saying about the N Series with regard to music... but my N80 held up pretty well for the best part of a year as my main mp3/aac player. Only issues I had were that some songs would pause at the end after playing, halting the playlist, quite annoying. I couldn't fault the sound quality on the N80, but must admit that the lack of SE's clever side buttons (on my S700i) meant I could not switch tracks or change volume with the phone out of sight, very important to avoid being mugged. In this regard, the S700i was a better phone than the N80.
Also... the N80's screen is mega-high res, but physically smaller than the S700i's. And the backlight is set to minimum most of the time to avoid running out of juice before it gets dark and I might need to call someone... Did I tell you I missed my S700i?

Yes. N80 is a brick. It's a very clever brick with an amazing browser, Wi-Fi and I can do amazing stuff like Skype, control my iTunes remotely and edit excel files. I think Nokia's bricks are preferable to an ultra thin thing with a stupid UI (Moto, Samsung, LG...) but SE were 6 months late to market with their brick... sorry, P990i... so I bought that damned N80. I think SE have got it down to about 3 months late now though... contract is up now. N95 is beckoning, but I might wait 3 months for P1i/N95 to be less extortionate. SE are going in the right direction, maybe? Nokia are getting lost. Possibly from using the GPS on the N95.

Dont get me wrong SE is an awsome brand but the SOFIA wont compare with the n95 if all the specs we are reading about it are true.
So what do you guys think?
The book man
So don't compare it.
lol u r the man....
but anyway......my friend got a mobile phone shop, he sells most phones in the plaza and he's a true believer that mobile phones, especially nokia has spare him some life by producing good products. having said that he himself has been disappointed by the fact that N95 isn't as good as most have expected. for instance, the GPS feature ain't good at all for an expensive device like N95. the built quality doesn't correspond to the high price.
Quick explanation you can take back to your friend.
1. The GPS for the N95 works fine for what it was designed for. It does not use the best chip on the market, SiRF Star III, but an inferior chip set however it does work. It simply does not acquire as fast as a dedicated GPS unit would and anyone that expects the N95 to work as fast as a dedicated unit is well, stupid.
2. The build quality on the N95 quite comparable to most phones on the market. The M600i felt like plastic, well because it was. The same with the N95. It is plastic. What do you expect? If it had metal, it would have been more expensive, heavier and the local band of complainers would have a problem with this too.
I don't know your friend but it sounds like he does not do enough investigation before making statements. Just my opinion based on what you said.

If you are looking for a comparison of specifications between the P1 and the N95, then you need to read a bit. The N95 kills the P1 on specs alone. Can you say 802.11B, and no HSPDA in the P1. SE is still using 5 year old technology in their phones. The P1 is on sale here in Finland and guess what, they are sitting on the shelves. People view the P1 as just another SE repackage with A2DP. Wow. By the way, it is cheaper than the N95 by 9 Euros. Consider better and more innovative technology, I will go with the N95 any day.

dont forget by the end of the year the price of P1 would have halved, showing how worthless SE handsets are at the moment.

I hear you dude, but I don't want to get into all that. I just like to inform the uninformed, but you do have a point.
