Very valid points and it is not just the Sony name either it is also the use of Cybershot and Walkman branding. But unfortunately this is just marketing and the products do not deliver what their names suggest or imply. All show but no go I'm afraid and the whole point is i can see no good reason for it to be like this why not deliver cutting edge tech and really steal the market rather then delivering half arsed products and disappointing all but those that don't know better and buy the hype. SE really should be delivering so much more than they are currently.

so what is carl zeiss, dvd like video and showing of bose headphones in the add, as if its for free. Arent these marketing gimmicks? And do they deliver what they say?
Carl Zeiss isnt marketing a gimmick, its the actual lens in there. What do you want? For them to put a CZ lens and then lie about it?
Bose headphones absolutely deliver! All N series have fantastic music quality, N91 has even better.

Nokia's CZ cameras do not produce better photos than SE's cameras. I thank that was what he was trying to say.

All this rubbish you keep on talking about the camera abilities of the N95 is based on what exactly, pre production reviews? try seeing what the camera does now rather than months ago and just try and get over this obsession many seem to have to prove just how bad this top selling device is. If you don't like it fine just don't buy it but stop this constant slagging of a device that so many are really happy with.
As for quoting Walkman buttons and Disc2Phone nearly everything i read about Disc2Phone is people saying how bad it is and wow a few Music playing buttons how technically dazzling. At least the N95 actually bought something new a different with it's side slide and multimedia controls that also put the device into Landscape mode now that is new and innovative.

yeah, the dual slider is new, and it is useful
but i will like to try the shake feature, which i think will be more fun than the dual slider. But with all recpect, it is brave of Nokia to try something ne, and they have succeded
