You didn't need to hold down the c button for the whole thing hehe sorry I couldn't help but giggle. It's just till it's recognised by the client.

hi

im trying to unbrand my k850, ive donwloaded the client and everything and plug in the phone and hold down c, and the phone boots in to mass storage mode and then davinci does the following:

(#) DaVinci Service Client v22.33
New device connected on USBF2
Device Identification Started...
Error: Identification Is Not Performed!
Identification Time - 00:00:03
Done!


Any suugestions on how to get it booting in to the correct mode?

did you take out the mem card and sim card, and hold down the c button for quite a while (longer than you do with the k800)

If the phone is booting into mass storage mode then I think it might be that you've not installed the USB drivers properly or the phone is still on or you've not removed/replaced the battery before plugging it in. It always seems to take me a couple of goes to install the drivers properly. You've got to have the phone off, remove/replace the battery, don't turn it on, remove the sim and memory card (optional for added saefty) and hold down C whilst plugging it in until the client starts making movements. Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

Anyone on the 3 network done a debrand and managed to work out how to get all the 3 stuff working again - planet3, my3, messenger, skype...etc.

I read somewhere that the 3 firmware has special customisations in it (security certificates?) which allow all of the 3 stuff to work which get deleted by the debrand.

Regarding the phone rebooting into mass storage mode.

I was having the same problem. Then I closed down the SEPCSuite (via the task manager process tab) and tried again and it worked fine.

Its worth a try and hope this helps.

It doesn't work. I flashed my 3 K850 with the customised UK Blue firmware and the phone would just say "configuration error, contact your network provider etc" when you started it up.

In the process of flashing the original 3 UK firmware now.....£15 wasted!

Re-flashed back to the 3 UK blue firmware and all is well.

Still, the 3 software package isn't half bad, guess I won't know if the generic is any faster!

I'm wanting to debrand the k850i from Orange to generic uk, which version do you think is the better?
