sharp phones have the best screens.
Sharp 904 = first ever vga res screen 640 x 480, have to say out of all the phones i have ever used the sharp phone's screen quality has always, in my opinion, been the best. Too bad the rest of the phone does'nt make up to it. I remember my GX20 having a screen way better than even most phones out today.

I'm just gonna quote all this because it doesnt seem like 16m colour fanboys have bothered to look at it yet. 16m better then
256k my ass!
Look at the pictures before posting BS about
screens not being good because they have less colours. This post by Amras wins this thread.
I think I said in the X1 Xperia thread that I wish that the Xperia had 16m colours, though, and I still support this Idea purely because it is a high end phone and will have an excessive price tag. For its price I would expect 16m colours as it is the flagship upcoming
model and will cost a lot, but other then cost reasons I doubt it will have a bad screen because it is only 65k colours.

Enough about the theory. Let's compare.
Both phones are rather new in term of release date so it's quite fair to compare both.
K770 (1.9", 256k color screen, TFT) Vs 6120 Classic (2", 16M color screen, TFT) - all set to maximum brightness.
K770 is always on the LEFT side
All the colors (black, white, red, green, blue) are obviously better in K770. K770 wins easily in term of brightness as well.
But interesting fact is K770's is
not even the best display from SE yet. S500 is better.
S500 (similar to W580) - K770
In case you think my review is biased, I'm not the only one who reviewed this kind of thing.
W580 - U600 (both are TFT 256k colors)
see W580 Vs U600, then see this:
U600 - N95 (TFT 256k Vs TFT 16M)
W580 - W910 (both are TFT 256k colors)
N95 - N95 8GB
and don't ever conclude anything if you compare those 16M screens with
K800. coz K800 display is WAY behind newest SE:
S500 - M600 - K800
viewing angle??
don't worry..
latest SE phones do the best:
Open your eyes please.. It's obvious that SE
latest displays are superb in term of brightness, saturation, contrast, viewing angle, direct sunlight view.
Now tell me what is so special about those 16M color screens?
You don't have to envy those Nokias' 16M color screens. Really.
As for me, I'd rather have a 256k color screen SE phone than a 16M color screen Nokia phone.

for me ( and i mention it so many times ) the best is still e60, e70 and e90 screens... so if any of u have the chance, take a look on those. trust me, se screens are a joke next to those... ( and other nokias aswell, just to be fair )

Boba
I've seen the display of E70 and E90, and my K850 still whooped their arses in terms of colours.

i base my statement on personal experiences, especially i love to view pix and zoom on those. i tested k850 aswell, but according the pixels of it, it didnt offered me the same clear result after zooming, like e60. also at watching movies offer e70, e60 etc better quality as k850 for example.

imo we are here to discuss fones and its features. so everybody may have her/his own point about things. so non of us is forced to have the same opinion like the other member, but to respect it is the standard for a good and useful discussion.

Yes but you havnt even seen or used the screen on the X1 yet so how can you be so sure its going to be bad? Its definately a lot better a screen then the k850 despite having less colours. I would wait and see what the screen is like before assuming it is going to be bad, but it definately will be much more advanced then the k850.

that right, for a good comparison u have to have it in your hands, but the known specs are already point on some facts, like even x1 has got a high res screen, 65k colours are way less then 16m. its like the nokia n80, high res screen, but only 262k or like nokia 6131... so the menu looks clear and nice, but whne it comes to watch tv, video or pix, then u can clearly see the diffrences.
