UCWEB is a good web browser but it is not better than Opera Mini because Opera Mini is the best. Why don't you see for yourself? Try downloading UCWEB5 or UCWEB6 and compare with Opera Mini 4.1 and Opera Mini Mod 2.06.

what is the advantage of opera mini 3.11 english mod over OM 4.1?

But the OM 3.11 english version still has russian language or whatsoever (unfamiliar fonts), in bookmarks..etc..

is it possible to mod the built-in web browser Opera Mobile 8.65, to configure it with shadow connect for free net?

TIA

Hi dev,

I wanted to configure my P1i to access FBT using Smart & Suncellular(postpaid). I dont have Sun setup parameters, so i couldn't try it on OM mod 3.11, (if you have Sun FBT settings please share it to me.)

The pre-installed browser is Opera Mobile 8.65, but I currently use OM3.11 for FBT. Some says, they could do the FBT trick using that pre-installed browser and can even watch video streaming for free without using OM3.11 mod version.

Please share your insights. Thanks!

I haven't tried it in Sun Cellular yet. For Smart, follow the settings below:

1. Download and then install Opera Mini mod v3.10
2. Open Opera Mini mod v3.10 then go to Menu>Tools>Settings>Network
3. "Opera Mini Server" should be http://wap.smart.com.ph@server.operamini.com:80
4. Put a check on "Shadow Connect"
5. Enter http://wap.smart.com.ph on the textbox labeled "The address to connect"
6. Do not change the other settings

Ahhm, i'm not sure but how about you try to change the file extension to .html or use the OPEN WITH option then select Internet Explorer on the list.
